“Preferring to create ready-to-wear, I saw an opportunity to use garments to make people feel empowered and at their most beautiful. Valuing craftsmanship and quality, Kuzyk aims to be timeless and thoughtful, a mainstay in anyone’s wardrobe. After three years in Los Angeles, I am happy to be back in New York City building the first Kuzyk showroom. Kuzyk is manufactured entirely in New York City and Los Angeles” - founder

6 years ago, I got a kimono from the 1800s south china, a gift from @meletmercantile . Then I found the perfect suede and recreated it. And made a patchwork skirt. It’s great.

Here is a list of some incredible female designers making interesting clothes right now. As we’re seeing more women being replaced at big fashion houses, I think it’s important to shine a light on women in fashion creating their own path. While it would be amazing to see more women leading major fashion brands, many are successfully building their own brands independently. So, here are some emerging female designers I think you should know about.

If there’s any other female designer that you personally enjoy, feel free to add them in the comments.
