Man I’m super proud of Lisa for this... Absolutely destroying her cut here. Abs starting to show, feeling better, more confident…. All while managing med school.

If she can do this during the busiest time of her life .. so can you!!

At times it is the details especially for athletes. You see different but also carry yourselves differently. When it comes to sports… equipment is just one aspect; it is your drive and determination that makes you truly special. #sportsphotography #portraitphotography #atheltics #details

High performance comes with a hidden cost: your body’s stress system.

In Episode 123, Kyle Baum breaks down adrenal fatigue — what happens when your adrenal glands pump out stress hormone for so long that they start to tap out. When cortisol is high for months or years, the system that once helped you perform begins to shut down, and you can’t produce enough to feel normal.

It’s the dark side of chronic grind culture: always on, always pushing, until your body can’t keep up.

Episode 123 of The Playbook with Colin Jonov — Kyle Baum is here to unpack adrenal fatigue and what high performers need to watch for. 🎙️

There’s a direct line between how stressed you are and how your gut feels.

In Episode 123, Kyle Baum breaks down why living in constant fight-or-flight doesn’t just fry your nervous system — it wrecks your digestion too. When you’re sympathetically driven, you’re not in “rest and digest”: stomach acid drops, motility slows, and nutrient absorption takes a hit.

Gut issues aren’t always random. Sometimes they’re a signal that your nervous system never gets to relax.

Episode 123 of The Playbook with Colin Jonov — Kyle Baum is here to connect gut health, stress, and performance in a way you can actually use. 🎙️

It’s Men’s Mental Health Month & Fathers Day

This is the insight from a man who has been a millionaire, been married, been divorced, been bankrupt, been a single father, and has overcome all of that to become a millionaire once again

I have had the privilege of pressure and experience that has allowed me the opportunity to see the root causes behind so many of these issues that plague us today

As both men and women

But as a man, I’m here to speak to the men

Our mental health issues are because of us. It is not because women are terrible. It is not because this generation is cooked.

The state of the world we live in is a reflection of the leadership that we as men have brought to our current generation

As a whole, we are failing to develop a backbone, to be men of our word, to do the things we say we’re going to do and to double down and do hard things

This creates the space for anxiety which leads to depression which lead leads to this pandemic of men opting out

And you can whine and complain about all the external factors for as long as you want to stay stuck, to stay broke, to stay anxious and to stay depressed

And if you’re in that state, you’re not gonna like me saying this, and I stand to gain nothing from saying this…

I say this because I was there, I was you and I made the change and it has brought abundance in my life, both in relationships, in finances, and in faith

I also have the privilege of seeing both of the sexes and how they operate in a business capacity

Which is just a reflection of their internal state

To the women out there, you’re doing an amazing job statistically the numbers that I see show you actually showing up doing the work taking scary action

And into the men who come to me with their excuses, their victim mentality, their scarcity mindset, their limiting beliefs & their self sabotaging patterns

I need you to do better. I need you to man up. I need you to stop being soft.

We can hold space for each other. We can be empathetic. We can speak our emotions to one another and support each other. That’s what brotherhood is all about.

But it’s time for us to be men again

This world needs it

She did everything the calorie math told her to do and the scale still wouldn’t move….

Caitlin had already cut her calories down, pushed her cardio up, and stayed disciplined with it for months. On paper she should 100% have been dropping weight, but nothing was happening. If you have ever lived that, you know exactly how defeating it feels to do everything right and watch the scale just sit there.

And I confirmed this. I had her do it with me as well. Made sure all her calories were accounted for had her send food logs, photos of meals etc. we confirmed every variable that most people mess up was accounted for fro a tracking and weighing food stand point.

What most coaches miss is this and a hill I will forever die on.. the whole calories in calories out model assumes every body burns calories the same way, and that is not even close to the case. If someone looked at all the different physiological processes that go into metabolism it literally looks like a roadmap more complex than the NYC subway system ..

So instead of guessing we measured. I had Caitlin get a Keto Mojo monitor to see how efficiently her body was burning fat after meals … and her ketones never climbed above 0.1… sometimes they weren’t even detectable.. That one number told us everything we needed to know... Her body was quite literally not tapping into its own fat stores, which meant she was not metabolically flexible, and no amount of eating less was ever going to fix a system that could not switch fuel sources in the first place.

So we stopped just cutting calories and doing things more strategically through our THRIVE Method... We cycled her carbohydrates AND her fats, pulling them lower/higher on some days to help push her body to tap into fat stores again, then feeding carbs back up on others to refill glycogen, protect her gym performance, and keep her sleep and recovery dialed in. We layered in strategic fasting windows to push her further into fat burning. Over time her ketones finally climbed to right around 1.0, and that is the range where real metabolic repair can start to kick in.

Meal prepping should really only take an hour or two out of your week.

If it’s longer than that you’re doing too much.

Keep it simple and go execute.
