“I’m really going to miss mountain biking and trail running when the days get colder and the snow starts to fly.”

… how long did it take to think to yourself?

“oh, that’s a load of horse-do-do!”

🎶🎶🎶
…
Like waking up too early, maybe we could [ski] in,
make your banana pancakes, pretend like it’s the weekend now.
And we could pretend it all the time.
Can’t you see that it’s just [sunny]?
There ain’t no need to [stay inside].
…
There ain’t no need to [stay inside]
Ain’t no need, ain’t no need.
[Ski] all day and I really, really, really don’t mind.
Can’t you see, can’t you see?
We gotta [ski] up slow.

Belated photo dump from @skimocanada team trip to the new ACC Robson Pass hut. The hut officially opens to the public in just two weeks, it’ll be an awesome place to stay and explore Robson Provincial Park!

And proper credit, almost all of these photos by @matt_ruta

Mt Resplendent

The forecast and weather looked favourable for our second day so the team was keen to get after a big objective. Having a group of 7 is not typical for a serious objective like Resplendent. However the group rolled well together and before we knew it were touring up towards the summit.

Wind and cloud had us questioning if we’d get to see anything, miraculously the clouds parted for our descent, and some firm wind buffed snow gave way to endless powder turns back to the Robson-Resplendent col! It was a dream come true!

After a lunch break a few of us still keen decided to tour up another slope for some quality bonus skiing before heading back to the hut

Robson Pass Day 2: from under the ice to above (nearly) all of it. A summit of Resplendent was the order of the day, plus a bonus glacier lap for some of the team who just couldn't get enough.

Rearguard Couloir, Robson Pass. Along with my @skimocanada teammates we spent the last few days checking out and mapping the ski terrain around the new Robson Pass Hut for the @alpineclubcan . We skied this awesome couloir above the hut the day we flew in.

Tell me, did the wind sweep you off your feet? And did you finally get the chance to dance along the light of day and head back to the Milky Way?

I've been craving a day out in the mountains, away from the crowds, and skiing in groomed snow.
It was a beautiful day with old friends and lots of laughter. And the personal growth and satisfaction that comes with doing things that are uncomfortable!
