Impact Over Profit. Legacy Over Recognition.

A week ago, we had the opportunity to do something truly special in our hometown.

What started as a vision became a reality through the Summit City Collective Camp, a free wrestling camp designed to give young athletes the chance to learn, grow, and experience the sport we love. A huge thank you to @kylejolas for having the vision, bringing people together, and creating something that will leave a lasting impact on our community.

What made this experience even more meaningful for me was the location. The camp was held at the same school where my dad and my cousin won their state wrestling titles and graduated. They are two of the many people who inspired me throughout my journey and helped shape the path that eventually led me to becoming a national champion.

Standing in that same gym, years later, and being able to pass along the lessons, knowledge, and values they instilled in me to the next generation was a full-circle moment I will never forget.

This was one of the most rewarding camps I have ever been a part of. I’m grateful to God for continuing to bless me with the ability to step on the mat and use the gift of wrestling to teach, serve, and inspire young athletes.

The true measure of success isn’t what we gain, it’s what we give back.

2027 Summit City Collective Camp… we’re just getting started.

This weekend was exactly what wrestling is supposed to be about.

A while back, my guy Kyle reached out to me with an idea for a free camp and recruiting showcase. I didn’t even have to think about it. I was all in for making this come to life.

What started as an idea turned into an incredible weekend with nearly 110 athletes on the final day, high-level wrestlers and coaches pouring into the next generation, giveaways for the kids, and a recruiting showcase featuring 10 programs from 8 different schools.

The best part wasn’t the numbers. It was the impact.

Throughout the weekend, parents and athletes kept telling us it was the best camp they had ever attended. Not because it was flashy, but because they genuinely learned. They left with new skills, new perspectives, and tools they can add to their arsenal immediately.

What really stuck with me were the families who told us this was their child’s first wrestling camp because they had never been able to afford one before. Some of those athletes are heading into their junior and senior years and had never experienced an opportunity like this.

That hits close to home.

I didn’t attend my first wrestling camp until I was going into my senior year because my family simply couldn’t afford it. I know what it’s like to watch opportunities pass by because of cost.

That’s why this mattered.

Wrestling has given me so much throughout my life, and being able to help create an opportunity that is accessible to everyone is something I’ll never take for granted. If this camp helped a young athlete believe in themselves, learn something new, or see a future in college wrestling that they hadn’t considered before, then every bit of effort was worth it.

Thank you to every athlete, parent, coach, clinician, volunteer, and college program that made this possible. Year 1 exceeded every expectation.

Already excited for Year 2. 🤼‍♂️❤️ #SummitCityCollective #GiveBack #Wrestling #Opportunity #ImpactOverEverything

Big thank you to these two men. They had a vision and were able to build something for the wrestlers in this area. We look forward to doing this again and growing even more.

Thank you Gralan Early and Kyle Jolas.
