Standalone 10k what an event!

We’ve been one of the sponsors for a few years now and it really is one of those events that makes Letchworth such an amazing place!

Thank you @north_herts_road_runners for organising and all of the volunteers on the day!

It was great to see so many customers and familiar faces enjoying (partially) the run 🏃 🏃‍♀️

Did you run? How did you get on? Did you enjoy the bypass?

It’s been a long 3 and half weeks and not been able to post in a while so thought I’d post an update.

As many of you know I had to bring my world record LEJOGLE day chair push to an abrupt halt a few weeks back after my trailer dug into a massive pothole coming into Cheddleton village, sending me flying and was subsequently taken to Stoke Hospital where I spent a couple days before being transferred back to hospital in London. Spent the next 3 weeks in Homerton Hospital, 2 of those awaiting much needed surgery on my shoulder but finally got it last Tuesday and a week later they’ve finally let me home. I honestly can’t thank everyone enough for all the support, messages, and well wishes. Means an awful lot.

Not gonna lie being so close to finishing the challenge and being over 1700miles in at the point of my mishap was a bit annoying and I know it’s going to bug me until I get it done so yes I definitely will be back. Probably won’t be till some point in the new year but Will post another update when I have dates finalised.

Recovery wise it’s going to be a good few weeks yet before I can begin to put weight through my right shoulder and be able to push myself again or transfer unassisted so for most part I’ll be stuck indoors unless anyone knows of anywhere or anyone I can loan a power attachment from so can at least still get around over the next few weeks. Any assistance or pointers on that would be greatly appreciated.

In the words of Arnie. I’ll be back💪

Also wanted to make a few shoutouts to my @keep.it.movin.k.i.m.tv fam, @kylerichards.ig & @kudosart_ for the brilliant watercolor they’ve done of me. Absolutely love it. To all the guys at @run.dem.crew and @dickypenn for the lovely video message. Can’t thank you enough for that. My wheelchair Rugby team Harlequin Jesters @harlequinsfoundation who I’m absolutely gutted not to be playing with this weekend in the last 5’s tournament of the season. I know they’ll absolutely smash it tho without me and bring back the win and promotion too. @caninepartnersuk And once again to each and every one of my followers. Couldn’t do it without you.

Thanks,
Peter

The 3am nobody talks about.

Not the baby waking up.

The one where your mind won’t switch off.

The one where you’re carrying worries nobody else can see.

As parents, Mum’s and Dad’s the worries never stop.

For me, that’s one of the biggest reasons I run.

Those early mornings aren’t just about getting fitter or chasing a PB. They’re my chance to clear my head, process the things I can’t control, and show up as the best husband and dad I can be.

My kids won’t remember every run I did.

But I hope they’ll remember a dad who was present, patient, and there when they needed him.

If getting up before the sun helps me become that man, it’s worth every alarm.

If you’re carrying something today, you’re not carrying it alone. ❤️

Disclaimer, these were somebody else’s words, but couldn’t have said it better as it was so relatable.
