Picture books can do more than pass the time, they can shape hearts, minds and character. They can inspire awe, wonder and plant eternal truths in little hearts.

Ever since my eldest was born, 9 years ago, we’ve been adding to our collection of Christian picture books and they’re some of the most well read books we own.

All show us more about who God is, and who we are in light of that, helping our little ones understand where their identities lie and giving an understanding of the world from a very young age.

We are sent A LOT of children’s books to check out around here lately so I pay extra attention to the ones that are requested over and over by my little one.

I don’t usually play favorites, but I can honestly say @bhpub has blown me away with their children’s titles the last few years.

The illustrations are high quality and engaging but even more importantly they have a clear Christian message that my little one grasps and holds on to 🥹

The Dragon Slayer and His Super Special Suit
This amazing picture book for children 4-8 is a clear gospel presentation about the armor of God with beautiful illustrations 😍

This is my favorite children’s book of 2026 (so far) It has inspired many games of knights and LEGO creations in our house 🥹🤍

It is routine now that my daughter tells me “I love you mama, but Jesus loves you more” 😭🥺

This book has been our most requested at bedtime and I probably could read it to you from memory 🤣

Over the years I’ve enjoyed reviewing and recommending books that have helped me grow in Christ but a book that roots truth in my little one and points her eyes towards Jesus has an even more tender place in my heart.

This is the board book that I’ll be buying to add in my baby shower gift basket for years to come.

If you have not grabbed it, highly recommend!

The illustrations in this book alone instantly made it 5 stars for me, absolutely breathtaking. This book for girls ages 4–8 uses fun facts about nature and God’s creation to help point girls to the truth that they are made in the image of God. The worth that the author is referencing is our inherent worth and dignity as image bearers. This is helpful in starting conversations about body image and beauty
