POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

in january 2020, one month after juice wrld passed, a 15 year old from new jersey walked into a studio for the first time. he had been singing in school plays his whole life, but losing x and then juice sent him into poetry trying to figure out how to write a song that actually meant something. he wanted to do what they did, and he wanted to do it better.

a few years later he became a born again Christian, and that is where it got hard. on a retreat with his brothers, everyone split off to sit in silence and listen for God. ky heard two things. one was forgiveness. the other was “you haven’t given Me everything.” he knew what it meant before he was ready to admit it, and he sat there crying because it meant the music he had spent years building. he deleted his old discography and started recording gospel rap.

he will tell you the road has not gotten easier. he says it gets lonely, that a lot of the people around him still want the life he walked away from, and that support can feel thin. the music has found people anyway. memento mori has passed 105k streams, godspeed is already over 92k, and he is sitting at 12.9k monthly listeners. you can still hear juice and x in the songwriting, with deftones and paramore somewhere underneath, but the message runs the other direction.

in his words, he wants you to try a new genre and let him speak life over you. go stream godspeed and start with misfire.

“Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life.”
