Happy World Food Day 2026 🍲🍛

As we wrap up the school year, we’re grateful for a year in which good food has been part of our everyday story. Thanks to the @kymrapierfoundation , Mama Day School learners and staff have enjoyed dignified, balanced, nourishing meals throughout the year.

Because quality education is also about how we care for the little bodies and growing minds behind every learner. And every child deserves to learn with dignity, a full tummy, and the chance to thrive.

Thank you, Kym Rapier Foundation, for helping make this possible. 💓

Our trip to Nepal was planned long before the devastating floods of August 26, 2026. Little did we know we would arrive in a country still grieving unimaginable loss.

Yet, amid the heartbreak, we witnessed extraordinary strength, unity, and resilience among people who had lost loved ones, homes, and nearly everything they owned.

It was our great honor to partner with Tsering’s Fund through the Kym Rapier Foundation to provide over 600 pairs of winter boots to survivors and displaced families.

The strength and spirit of the Nepalese people left a lasting impression on our hearts. A beautiful reminder that even in the face of tragedy, hope and humanity endure. ❤️

This October, We stand with every girl.

No girl should miss school because she cannot afford period products.
Together, let’s break the barriers of period poverty, promote menstrual dignity, and support girls to stay in school, learn, grow and thrive.

Because periods should never stand in the way of a girl’s education.

My visit to Nicote in Helambu has forever inspired me. It was one of those pivotal moments that shifts your perspective and deepens your sense of purpose.

Standing there, surrounded by these incredible children and this beautiful community, reinforced something I have always believed: where a child is born should never determine the opportunities they have access to or how far they are able to dream.

This experience has expanded not only my personal vision for creating greater access to education and opportunity for children, but also the vision of the Kym Rapier Foundation.

I am so excited for what is to come here and incredibly grateful for the opportunity to partner with this amazing school as we work together to give more children the access, resources, and opportunities they need to pursue their education and build the future they deserve.

There is so much more to share, and I cannot wait to bring you along for what comes next. ❤️

Last week in Nepal, the @kymrapierfoundation had the joy of hosting a filmmaking workshop alongside an incredible team of cinematographers, photographers, sound professional, and production crew. One of the things we love most is creating opportunities that inspire people, build confidence, and equip them with that can open doors for their future. I’m so grateful for our amazing team and for everyone who joined us for such a meaningful experience.

@kymrapierfoundation presents , in collaboration with @shantanepalifoundation, an immersive, hands-on filmmaking workshop with Emmy-nominated directors, an experienced cinematographer, and professional filmmakers, offering participants the opportunity to learn directly from industry practitioners.

Participants will work with professional filmmaking equipment and gain practical experience in cinematography, camera operation, composition, lighting, and visual storytelling. The workshop will also explore how to shoot and tell stories in tough terrains and extreme conditions, focusing on real-world challenges, problem solving, and adapting filmmaking techniques to unpredictable environments.

Rather than being a classroom based session, the workshop emphasizes learning by doing, giving participants the opportunity to handle equipment, shoot scenes, experiment with techniques, and receive guidance and feedback from experienced filmmakers.

Venue: Yak and Yeti Hotel
Date: 26th September, 2026
Time: 1 PM - 3 PM

Registration is mandatory. Priority will be given to those who are already working in creative industry.

A heartfelt thank you to @kymrapierfoundation 💚 ⚽

Your incredible support makes our CHEZA Hub program possible — a safe, joyful space where girls of mixed abilities kick, learn and thrive together.

Through football and #PurposefulPlay, girls build life skills, confidence and leadership. They learn about their health and rights. And they show up — every session, every week — because they know this space belongs to them.

We are deeply grateful. 💚⚽

6 YEARS UNDER THE WAVE 🌊

Six years ago, Under The Wave started with an idea: that protecting our ocean starts with the people who live alongside it.

There have been incredible moments. Reefs coming back to life. Children discovering the ocean in a completely new way. Communities coming together. Dolphins and turtles being protected. Fishermen working towards a future where healthy oceans and strong livelihoods can exist side by side.

There have been setbacks. Projects that didn’t go as planned. Difficult conversations, long days, changing conditions and moments where we had to rethink, adapt and start again.

And maybe that’s what these six years have taught us most:

Real impact isn’t a straight line.

It’s made by showing up. Learning. Making mistakes. Listening. Trying again. And continuing to believe that change is possible.

Today, we don’t just want to celebrate the numbers.

We want to celebrate the people behind them.

Our team. Our volunteers. Our partners. The schools and teachers who opened their doors to us. The fishermen who trusted us. The local communities who welcomed us. And every single person who donated, shared our story, joined a project or simply believed in what we were trying to build.

Thank you.

Under The Wave would not exist without you.

Six years down.
Countless lessons learned.
And still so much ocean left to protect.

😋157 little tummies. 14 big ones too. 😂 And one very grateful Mama Day family.🧡

What began the year with 140 learners has grown to 157 learners and 14 staff sharing in a feeding program built around nutrition, dignity and love. 🥣🌱

From millet & maize porridge to githeri, beef & beans, green grams, vegetables, chapatis and fruit ; plus our Egg Tuesdays 🥚, Fruits Thursdays 🍎 and Milk Fridays 🥛 ,we’re growing a menu that nourishes both little bodies and big dreams.

We’re deeply grateful to the @kymrapierfoundation for empowering us, Mama Day School and our community to build this together. And to our parents, thank you for trusting us, partnering with us and walking this journey alongside the school. ❤️

🤍This is community. This is dignity. This is Lishe ya Upendo 🍛
