A closer look at the works in our current exhibition in collaboration with @auto___amor (part 2!) ➡️

Tara Harris explores inner landscapes shaped by memory, emotion and lived experience. Rather than depicting specific places, she creates otherworldly terrains that evoke a felt presence. Her paintings unfold as psychological environments where atmosphere, gesture and intricate line work converge.

Julia Belozertseva's paintings and ceramics explore the interplay between space, memory, and imagination. Described as 'naïve archaeology', she draws on architectural geometry, ancient graffiti, and naïve art to create landscapes and objects that sit between the familiar and the abstract.

Lenka Della-Porta’s practice holds a distinct interest in the objects and patterns that make up the world, exploring cultural nostalgia and diasporic identities in relation to the modern globalised world. Her work, delicately drawn out in graphite and charcoal, dissects the fragile nature of positionality, morality, and secrecy.

Alex March makes work based around found images and is interested in historical sources which repeat tropes. She uses collage, film, painting, drawing and installation to collect and skew visual imagery as it reinforces patriarchal or hierarchal norms and is interested in visual imagery as conditioning.

Anna Holm’s work centres on personal narratives and themes shaped by her care experience - isolation, loneliness, disenfranchised grief, and the continual state of othering that can emerge from the absence of roots, kin, and heritage. Through painting, she seeks somehow to transform these experiences into spaces of tenderness, beauty, and psychological possibility.

Emma Dalton works from life and the act of harnessing the energy of a certain moment or landscape is the life force of her work. Her practice is largely inspired by the environment around her - wild fields, tangled gardens and brilliant people.

Open in Exeter and viewable 24/7 until 18th July, where we are hosting a closing party from 3-5pm! 🥂

Inspired by archaeology, Julia Belozertseva explores the boundary between the man-made and the natural. Drawing on her architectural background, she sought an artistic medium through which to express different facets of identity. Julia’s practice brings together an architectural sensibility and the language of ancient markings, patterns etched by human hands or shapes shaped by nature, chasing the deep connection to art she has carried since childhood.

Hollow Rocks is a series of ceramic pieces that echo forms carved over time by water or wind, reimagined in an organic yet abstract way. Their hollowness is a quiet reminder that every object holds a purpose, even one not yet fulfilled. Though each piece appears unintentional and natural, it carries the imprint of human instinct, a subtle reflection of our relationship with the world around us.

Visit us now at 92 Brick Lane for an opportunity to view and interact with the works!
