It was a great trip “Back Home” to Louisiana😉for all things Fest Acadien, but as of today, we’re making our trek back to our new home in ATX. Shoutout to all my LA. people for the insane amount of love I was showered with over the last week. Ya’ll sure know how to make a boy feel missed and special.

I have my second official “Gino V.” show at @austingarden this Saturday night. 9-12 , FREE ENTRY, so you got a dope thing to get into after the big game💪🏼🤘🏼
Come pop in on ya boy! I’m bringing one hell of a squad with me. See you soon Austin

It was a total of 10hrs in my car on last Thursday to make it back home to my parents in Delcambre at 3am, after a work trip from Dallas to Austin, but the effort was worth it. Festival Acadiens Et Creoles 2026 was one I’ll always remember. From a packed house Friday night at Blue Moon Saloon with my boys and getting like 3 hrs of sleep on Kent’s couch, to opening up Scene ‘76 the following morning(my first official time playing the festival), and then going out after Sunday church service to the grounds for my favorite Sunday hang. It was a full and fulfilling weekend. It’s been a true blessing to still be able to come home to an abundance of love and support in the community after moving away to Austin. I might have left Lafayette physically, but Lafayette will ALWAYS be home in my heart. If you pulled up on me at all or literally just stopped me for a kind word(so many sweet moments with people this weekend), thank you so much. I don’t take it for granted. I’ll see you again soon, Acadiana❤️

I first heard the @thewomacksisters this summer as the opening band with @theesacredsouls and @the_lalom. And to be fair, they’re not actually a new band, but they were new to me. They quickly become my favorite new band that I’ve heard in 2026, with their single “Chauffer” being stuck in my head constantly since I first heard it. And since I’ve been so busy playing since gigs all summer, I decided to dedicate my first drum cover in a while to my new favorite band. As always I used the @moises.ai to remove the original drum track and then attempted to recreate the feel and sound of the original track. I maybe played this a little more funky and laid back than the original, but I dig the vibe. #drumcover #drums #madewithmoises

On to drum nerdom:
Really fun cymbal setup in the studio today. @paistecymbals Twenty Series across the board: 22" Ride, 22" Light Ride, 20" Crash, 16" Twenty Masters Prototype Hats. Precursor to the Masters Series that everyone loves today. Beautifly trashy with just enough umph to catch your attention. Thanks to @labackbeat for the fresh timber too!

STORY TIME
I recently registered my vehicle in Texas, so my old LA plates are history. Needless to say, It’s been a rollercoaster of a day. I woke up to no vehicle. It was towed from MY OWN APARTMENT COMPLEX last night at some point🫠This TECHNICALLY is my fault cause I hadn’t updated my new plate in the resident registry yet. Unfortunately, I don’t see me getting the $335 charge back regardless of the fact that I actually live there. Or regardless of the fact that ALL my vehicle information is updated to this address with my apartment number listed when you run my VIN number; insurance included. I know this cause it was on my receipt and invoice that was given to me after paying the fees to get my car released🙄

Anyway, immediately after getting my vehicle back, I was contacted to do a last minute session at my homie @sunrise_get_down ‘s studio for a new @daddyvalentine release. Grateful to have had something positive happen in my day to turn it around a bit. Grateful to be able take some of this frustration out on some drums. Been awhile since daddy got to rock n roll 🤘🏼 💥

WELL, I’d say this was officially my busiest weekend since moving to ATX. 4 gigs in 2 days and I am so grateful for the opportunities. Two roof top load ins and a lot of carting my rig around downtown Austin(SO GRATEFUL FOR THIS CART😭), but I crushed it. I’m beat and my heart is full.

Shoutout my dawgs for killing, being pliable, and making 6hrs of music time on Friday really enjoyable. @keithsandersmusic @dak000ta @wcboswell
Shoutout to @letrainiump and @mikebassmusic for allowing me to be a part of two really special shows on Saturday🙏🏼

For now, we rest and reset. Acadiana, I’m coming for you next week! ❤️can’t wait to see my people.

Another one from Sunday with the Ange K. crew🔥

Easily one of my favorite tunes to sing backgrounds on🎤 This song is a certified banger and it’s never NOT gonna slap, unless the band that’s playing it ain’t delivering, but we obviously didn’t have that problem on Sunday🤣👏🏼

It was a great weekend in Texas🤠

I got to see one of my most influential bands(Los Lonely Boys)with my best bud by my side. That self titled record shaped both of us in our youth and it was so cool to finally hear those songs in person; left the show feeling incredibly inspired. I packed up the whip and traveled out to East Texas for two days to fill in on drums with my big bros @hamiltonloomis and @mpmeade38
From a smokey dive bar in Crosby, to a Winery tucked away in Plantersville, and then back home to ATX. It felt good to be out, about, and doing my thing🤘🏼
