.
everyone in me
is a bird
I am beating all my wings

— Anne Sexton

write me a poem
of grey doves and black roses
cover me in dead flowers
sing me an elegy
shroud me in love
make me immortal again

#poeticsighs

I want to thank you guys
for all the comforting messages you’ve left me
regarding Loki 🫶🏻

he is home now
and there is some closure 🤍

Bodhi my other silkie terrier
is doing great
he is actually loving all the attention
and being the top dog

#closure #soulfulsunday #flockingtogether #artistlife

as some of you guys know
we now have four red shouldered hawks
they get fed raw chicken twice a day

it started with one hawk two years ago
and now they are four

ravens are also chilling here being fed walnuts
I love ravens
they are such intelligent beautiful creatures 🐦‍⬛

a mourning dove has appeared recently at the bird feeder
singing a soothing elegy 🖤

ducks were also here for a bit below in the creek

Sid in the last pic is our 20 yr old cockatiel
we had three but are now down to two

living in this beautiful canyon is truly amazing
so blessed to share it
with all of these wonderful creatures

we also have coyotes and an occasional mountain lion that come around

the earth is angry right now
and rightly so

we must all be good stewards and protect this fragile land
and all of her creatures in it

life is beautiful
but borrowed and brief

so look up
dance under that bold full moon
kiss a star
love life
and never say never

because my darlings
never is forever

love you all 🖤🌙🐦‍⬛💋

I am the contrast that bears such love
Holding onto that which still breathes
Refusing to side with such apathy
Despite the season that inherently let’s go
Any release will be met with the effort of forever
For temporary was not this loves intent…..

I am hindsight arisen
Mirror reflective, the past haunts
Black and white is the memory
Colours no longer soothe
As remembrance twists what was
Into a reality downcast
The quiet of such shadowed recall
Pulls at emotions soul deep…..

One that hints of the dread of night
Shadows eventually hide within the grief
As I walk the line between then and now
For this coming darkness reminds of loves demise
A sacrifice of emotive belief that now
rests on the horizon of disbelief……..
