Celebrating my beautiful, brilliant, and super sweet niece, Dr. Tiara Lacey, on her graduation from Harvard Medical School with her PhD in Biological and Biomedical Sciences yesterday. From high school, she was focused. She had a vision, and she stayed faithful to it. Long days, late nights, sacrifices, and unwavering determination brought her to this moment. Watching her journey has been nothing short of inspiring. Write the vision, and make it plain… Habakkuk 2:2. She wrote it, she believed it, and she walked it out with grace and strength. Dr. Tiara, you are proof that faith, focus, and perseverance can move mountains. The world is better because of your brilliance and your heart. I am beyond proud of you and excited to see how God continues to use you. Keep shining. This is only the beginning. Love you very much!

Happy Birthday to my beautiful niece, Tyler! Before I had my own kids, I'm so grateful Trina and Tony shared you with me. To God be the glory! We celebrate our beautiful daughter, Dr Lacey Foster, on her graduation last week from the USC Keck School of Medicine with a Doctor of Medicine degree in Plastic Surgery. What an incredible journey, and what a powerful testimony of dedication, discipline, and purpose. To say we are proud is truly an understatement. Lacey did not come to play. She leaves her mark with not one, but four distinguished honors: Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, Dean’s Research Scholars, Distinction in Research, and the Gold Humanism Honor Society. Excellence has followed her every step of the way. We thank God for guiding her path, strengthening her through every challenge, and opening doors no one could shut. We are in awe of what He has already done in her life, and even more excited for what He will continue to do through her hands and heart as she serves others at Johns Hopkins and beyond. On the fifth day of Holy Week 2026 - Maundy Thursday, my dear Spelman Sister Kimberly Lacey-Foster “PK” preached her initial sermon at Bethel A.M.E. Church, Baltimore MD alongside her sister in Christ Zulema Caldwell. With extra special Blessings from Gospel Songstress Maurette Brown-Clark! Under the tutelage of their former Pastor Dr. Frank M Reid III, both Kimberly and Zulema preached their sermons and were voted by their church community to continue along their journey to move forward in ordination. Congratulations Kim and to my soror Zulema! In front of her praying and beaming mom, husband, family, AKA sorors, bestie and friends Kim preached to us “Faith over Fear.” I’m in a deep season of faith and caregiving and was so blessed to be in MD this week. She was heartfelt, powerful, anointed and relevant. Several of my own Kleenex ended up drying tears from my eyes… The gems: But God … Shift from Problems to Power of Faith… Don’t grow harder, Trust deeper Lord, I trust again… Praise God!
