Last night's screening at the Esquire, IMAX in Sacramento was truly momentous. To have the opportunity to show our film to legislators who are working tirelessly for women's rights, gave me a sense of hope that perhaps our film will keep the conversation going! What an honor to have our film introduced by the Assembly Majority Leader, and Chair of The Woman's legislative caucus Cecilia Aguilar-Curry,, Q&A with Assemblywoman, Tina McKinnon, and California State Treasurer Fiona Ma on the panel alongside beloved Director/writer/actor, John Lacy and costar Alan Bernhoft. The marquee took my breath away, and I returned to Hollywood with stars in my eyes and a renewed sense of purpose after spending the day with California legislators. More on that soon.

Grateful to the California Legislative Women’s Caucus, especially Chair Asm Cecilia Aguiar-Curry and MC for the panel Asm Tina McKinnor and the other Members who attended and Attorney Anh Phoong for sponsoring tonight’s powerful special film screening in Sacramento 🎬✨

Everyone Asked About You is a bold, unfiltered indie film that pulls back the curtain on Hollywood’s toxic and exploitative underbelly—especially for young women and child actors. Directed by and starring John Lacy, alongside Rachel Bailit, the film follows Simone Deville, a former child star navigating the long-term trauma of early fame, betrayal, and abuse of power.

Shot in a gritty, vérité style inspired by French New Wave cinema, the film confronts hard truths about workplace exploitation, power dynamics, and the ongoing need for accountability in the #MeToo era. It’s raw, personal, and necessary—and it’s earned well-deserved recognition, including Best Feature at the Golden State Film Festival. 🏆

🏆 Rachel Bailit won Excellent Leading Actress at the San Francisco International New Concept Film Festival, a powerful acknowledgment of her fearless and deeply moving performance.

Thank you to our legislative leaders and community members for uplifting women’s voices, supporting independent artists, and creating space for honest conversations that lead to real change. 💜🎥

There are levels to the craft of acting.
Some performances deliver lines, others serve the story by living truthfully in the character so the moment resonates beyond the cut.
