Hi friends, I’ve been meaning to share an update here for quite a while now. There’s just been so much that’s happened I’ve had a hard time nailing it down to words, and I go back and forth on how much I want to share on IG these days, but alas here we are.

Some of you that know me know that in 2022 my life practically turned upside down. Around the time of my daughters’ 1st birthday in April, she was diagnosed with Nueroblastoma, a rare form of cancer. We noticed a lump on her neck that was determined cancerous. And because we were not getting the care we needed (mostly a children’s hospital) where we were living in Santa Cruz, as soon as we found out, we packed up our lives and moved to Colorado. We were fortunately able to transfer her care to CO Children’s Hospital and they were incredible. We left our home in Aptos overlooking the cement ship, put all of our stuff in storage and moved in with my mother in law. We were fortunate to have family and the hospital not far from each other. By August, it was determined that surgery was the best option. She had surgery on August 2nd which I can tell you was one of the more stressful days of my life- but thanks to a lot of support from friends, and specifically @jesira_yoga I was able to livestream a yoga class back in Santa Cruz in the waiting room, which made the hours go by quickly. Surgery went as good as it possibly could have and Zinnia healed up like a champ. We were out of the hospital within 2 days. Zinnia is now doing amazing, but we have an MRI check up every 3 months to monitor any possible changes. (Whoops, my caption is too long- continued in comments!) 👇

Art Cave Revival @theartcavesc 🤘 An amazing night. I’m feeling like my art has become less of a business and more of a means of expressing my gratitude towards and awe of the universe and all of its blessings: a beautiful planet that supports life, a body that makes babies 🤯, a husband that rocks my world, a best friend to put on art shows with, and so many friends, family, and creators to share in all of it! This show features a collection of artwork that they have been producing since surrendering their gallery space at the Wrigley Building in 2020, and making space for each to become new mothers! They explore themes of motherhood, the feminine, rebirth, and celebrating the new season!

… i have a story! once upon a time i went to my best friends’s (is that plural for 2 best lovies getting married?!?! @ryder5000 @laericksson ) wedding and loved every bit of it (slide 1). as an extra special gift i scattered a family diamond somewhere in the vicinity (slide 2). because i didn’t know what to do with myself about it i procrastinated on getting it fixed and valentine’s day 2022 came around and @woodcoastdesign surprised me with the most perfect place holder by @xenosworks (slide 3). (side note, same day j lost his wedding ring somewhere in his shop and so he’s getting a freshie too!). now i have a rugged ocean inspired bronze ring to wear when i’m being too tough for delicate heirloom diamonds.
