The Fourth of July may be over, but there's still 3 days left to experience the Great American State Fair in the heart of Washington, DC!

A big shoutout to our very own LAI Live team, who have been hard at work helping produce the Legacy Stage as part of our partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts. Their dedication behind the scenes has helped bring two weeks of incredible performances, creativity, and community to fairgoers.

If you're visiting the fair this week, be sure to stop by the Legacy Stage and say hello!

I recorded this last Friday after my final keynote of a very full stretch.

And now that I’ve had a few days to catch my breath, my heart is still full.

Eleven keynotes in April and May.

Different industries. Different challenges. Different audiences.

Thousands of leaders.

And while every room was unique, I kept hearing many of the same things:

The pace feels relentless.

There is so much uncertainty.

There is so much change.

There is simply “so muchness.”

Leaders are carrying a lot right now.

What struck me most is that people are not looking for easy answers.

They are looking for the capacity to navigate what is now and what is next.

The capacity to adapt.

The capacity to build Sustainable Resilience in a world that isn’t slowing down.

The capacity to stay grounded when everything around them feels uncertain.

The capacity to ignite Unstoppable Momentum™ without burning out in the process.

That is why this work matters so much to me.

And none of it happens alone.

Behind every keynote is an incredible network of people working to create meaningful experiences and impact. So much gratitude for my clients who trust me with their people, my bureau partners who champion my work, my husband Jason, my assistant Iyesha, and every meeting planner, event professional, and leader who made these past few months so meaningful.

Now I’m grateful for a few weeks off the road.

A little time at the lake.

A chance to practice what I teach by creating space to rest, recharge, reflect, and refuel.

Because Sustainable Resilience isn’t about pushing harder.

And Unstoppable Momentum isn’t about moving faster.

It’s about building the capacity to keep moving forward, adapt, and thrive through change and uncertainty over the long haul.

My heart is full.

In this world of “so muchness,”what’s one thing helping you recharge, refuel, or build your capacity right now?

Team LAI came together in a big way this week to support our neighbors through SOME (So Others Might Eat). 🎁

More than 20 members of our staff rolled up their sleeves to assemble 100 winter care boxes filled with essentials like hats, scarves, gloves, socks, toiletries, and more. Each box represents a small act of care for individuals and families experiencing homelessness in our community and we’re grateful for the chance to give back. 💛

A huge thank-you to our incredible team of holiday “elves” who showed up with enthusiasm, teamwork, and generosity. Moments like these remind us how meaningful it is to serve together.

Last Friday, I stood on the Keynote stage at MPI WEC 2025 in St. Louis and delivered one of the most meaningful keynotes of my journey so far.

Sharing my Rise Through It™ message with an audience navigating relentless uncertainty in the events industry hit different.

Let’s be honest—planners, producers, and leaders in this space are carrying a ton right now: budget cuts, changing expectations, AI disruption, burnout, shifting business models.

And still, they show up. They create experiences that connect us, move us, and remind us we’re not alone.

To be in a room filled with that kind of grit and vision—and to speak into it—was an honor I won’t forget.

What made it even more powerful? The conversations after.

I got to sit with corporate changemakers, event planners, association execs, supplier partners—the folks shaping the future of how we meet, learn, and lead.

They were vulnerable. Curious. Bold. We talked about failure. Leadership. Resilience. Reinvention.

The event industry might be filled with uncertainty right now. But it’s also full of people who are ready to RISE.

Thank you Meeting Professionals International and the #MPIWEC2025 team for curating such an unforgettable experience.

Let’s keep rising—through the mess, through the unknown, together.
