It’s okay to chase big dreams but don’t let the pressure stop you from having fun along the way 🫶

A couple of weekends ago @milliegibbons did what she does best, bringing together our community in Girona for One More Climb!

With the support of @maap.cc @sjcoventry & @ulrichbns we took on the challenge of attempting to ride the elevation of Everest, over a 24h period on the backside of Els, our home climb. What followed, was the essence of the mental strength and power of our women’s community in Girona, and those who support us.

While I only managed to drag myself through half of the challenge, I was left inspired and in awe of what we have here, and the environment I have the privilege of living in every day. Often my line of work means either missing out on these kinds of challenges, or choosing to do them totally unprepared. I would choose the latter every time. I can’t really explain how special it is, to be able to say yes and jump two feet into a ridiculous challenge, having no idea if you’ll actually complete it. But to do so surrounded by so many inspiring women who don’t think twice before saying yes themselves, is amazing.

So, here’s to women supporting women in sport. But most of all, here’s to @milliegibbons for everything you do and represent for all of us, I’m your biggest fan💖

I will be back to get this Everest next time!!!

“The people you surround yourself with, you become”
I really hope so

A weekend spent riding up the same climb, a group of women all with the same mindset, a goal that only makes sense to a few.

Everesting 🏔️🦄

Thanks to @maap.cc @maap.rides for all the support

And to @milliegibbons for bringing all of these people together in our home away from home

760km from San Sebastián to Barcelona. 12,500m of climbing because obviously we didn’t take the most direct route. After 32 hours of riding in 5 days it’s safe to say that’s my biggest week ever.

It was an honour to join @laureussport on their mission to use sport to create opportunities and change outcomes for young people facing adversity. Riding across Spain last week with some of our sports’ biggest legends was just one of their fundraising efforts, and they’re close to their goal of £200,000 for this initiative alone. If you’d like to donate follow the link in their bio.

Personally, sport entered my life as an outlet and an escape so I can understand how the opportunity to get involved can change the path of a young persons life for the better.

Our Way To Zegama by @templerunninggirona + @acg

This might be the first time before a race I genuinely asked myself whether I could actually pull it off. Neither in serious, nor in amateur sport — that question had never really been on the table.

600+ kilometers in 56 hours, two nights of sleep deprivation, storm winds, rain, burning sun, every terrain type you can name — none of it was making things easier.

And easy it wasn’t. At least not at first. What got it done was good company, a fair share of self-convincing, and a serious amount of pain numbing gel. I started May with 0km of mileage, and between the 14th and 16th I put down 100 kilometers and 1700 meters of elevation. Same tremendous work by my teammates — and we made it to Zegama.

What stays off camera: thorns stuck in my legs, private property trespassing, that smell inside the team van after two days of running, the bathroom breaks in the middle of nowhere, some bruised toenails and other stuff you may not wanna know about. Big things come at a cost, after all.

I appreciate everyone who was on the road with me, teams B/C/D, everyone who made the whole project possible, and everyone who was invested in what we were going through.
