Part 1

July 14th 2023
on a hot summer day in La Spezia, our lives changed forever: there was a heartbeat 💗 We surprisingly found out I was pregnant, against all odds.
All my life I had been told I would not able to conceive naturally. Polycystic ovaries, almost total lack of ovulation, and a recent egg count that had left me with very low hopes. I had therefore recently decided to undergo treatment for egg freezing and eventual IVF as we did want kids, but were planning to wait a year to establish our lives together first.
They say, “If you wish to have God laugh make a plan”. Well he must have grinned the day we visited the IVF clinic cause less than a month later we were 6/7 weeks pregnant!
Life started spiralling and plans went up in the air but we were ABSOLUTELY HAPPY!
Levi and I were so excited and couldn’t wait to tell the world. However, we chose to first run some tests to make sure our baby was healthy and the pregnancy was safe for both.

In between work commitments I managed to do a non invasive prenatal testing (NIPT) - a test no insurance covers and quite expensive in countries like Panama.
The results would arrive on august 29th, the day Levi and I would reunite again and then we’d be finally able to tell everyone the wonderful news!
