POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Still buzzing from Wednesday night and thought we’d share what we heard, cause women’s voices are what it’s all about ;)

“I woke up this morning still thinking about last night’s event and wanted to share that it was hands down one of my favorite networking events ever. Content was thoughtful, venue was fantastic, and the women in the room were absolutely kickass. It was the perfect combination of meaningful conversations, inspiration, and connection.”
Terri, Landwise @terriljohns08

“It got louder and louder as the evening went on and with each table change.”
Allison, Clearford @allisonebennett

This is what we want you to feel at every event, from the moment you walk in. As Jessie @jessielaurenhk (WGRID Chair, Cachet Homes) put it: “energized and like you’ve filled your bucket. Not drained by going to yet another event.”

Thank you to those who came last night and those that have come before. By leaning in and bringing your authentic selves we are creating a community with infectious energy.

What a magical way to start the season. More to come.

Coffee in hand, time for my Sunday musing.💭

Last Sunday marked the end of my service as the West End Home Builders' Association (WE HBA) representative on the Board of Directors for the Ontario Home Builders' Association (OHBA).

Over the past three years, I had the privilege of serving alongside and through the presidencies of Dave Depencier, Mike Memme, and Christina Giannone. It was a period of significant change and transformation for OHBA, and I am grateful to have played a small part in helping advance the association's work during that time. 🙏

The experience gave me a much deeper appreciation for the important work being done across the province and the dedication of local home builders' associations in communities large and small. It also provided invaluable insight into the challenges and opportunities facing our industry, and the collective effort required to move it forward.

Most importantly, however, it was about the people.💥

I leave with a lifetime of relationships built with thoughtful, intelligent, and deeply committed individuals who consistently put the interests of the association and the industry ahead of themselves. The conversations, debates, collaboration, and friendships have made me better, both professionally and personally.

Tom, I have absolutely no doubt that your year ahead as Chair will be a huge success, OHBA is in good hands. To everyone I had the opportunity to serve with, thank you. It was an honour. I am proud of what we accomplished together and excited to see what comes next for OHBA and its member associations.

And, as always, thank you to the team at Landwise for supporting my time spent on my community commitments, you are the best!

Wishing everyone a wonderful Sunday. ☺️

The Biindigen Well-Being Centre is a transformational Indigenous-led development in Hamilton that will bring together health care, early childhood education, cultural programming, and affordable housing within a single, community-centred campus.

The campus will provide culturally safe care, housing, and community connection while creating a lasting space rooted in Indigenous knowledge, belonging, and self-determination. We are honoured to be supporting the engineering design alongside project partners.

As this important project continues, we encourage our network to learn more and support the upcoming October Moon Gala, a celebration and fundraiser that helps advance the mission of the De dwa da dehs nye>s @aboriginalhealthcentre and the communities it serves.

Honoured to be recognized as an Alumni of Distinction as Mohawk celebrates its 30th year of recognizing graduates who have made meaningful contributions in their professions and communities.🙏

Mohawk has played an instrumental role in my journey, and I remain grateful for the education, relationships, and values that helped shape both my career and my commitment to community service.

The journey that began at Mohawk ultimately led me to become the founder and president of Landwise, a path filled with opportunities to innovate, lead, and contribute to the industries and communities we serve.

It is a privilege to be part of a remarkable group of alumni whose accomplishments reflect the lasting impact of a Mohawk education. Congratulations to this year's recipients, and congratulations to Mohawk College on 30 years of celebrating excellence, leadership, and service. 🌟

Thank you for continuing this inspiring tradition. I look forward to October's celebration 🎉

Sunday musings and some personal news! 📰

My journey with Kemp Care Network as a professional planner has come to an end, but I am thrilled to share that I have accepted an invitation to join its Board of Directors. 🙋‍♀️

In 2016, T. Johns Consulting (now Landwise) was retained to assist Kemp Care Network in exploring the addition of a children's hospice to its services. Following a feasibility study and support through a challenging site selection process, the City of Hamilton identified surplus lands on the Wentworth Lodge campus on South Street West. Our planning review confirmed the site was well-suited for the project, with appropriate zoning and sufficient land area. Under the leadership of Jennifer Badley, the project advanced through design and successfully obtained Site Plan Approval late last year. Finding the right site was not easy, making this milestone all the more meaningful. I am proud to have been part of the team that helped move this vision from concept to approved development.

Now, under the leadership of Board Chair Diane Murray and CEO, Danielle Zucchet, I look forward to learning even more about the organization's mission and supporting the incredible work being done across the network. Most of all, I look forward to being there when the doors of Keaton's Place – Paul Paletta Children's Hospice open to the community. ✂️

Mike, thank you for your thoughtful article on the project. In my volunteer work, I have been a strong advocate for community-building, and this hospice is a powerful example of what can be achieved when vision, collaboration, and compassion come together. 🙌

I am humbled to continue my involvement in this important work and excited to contribute in a new capacity. Looking forward to this new challenge and to helping support the future of Kemp Care Network. 🦾
