What if the city were the first citizen?

On June 21st, we had the honor of participating in the ReTech Center - École des Ponts Annual Conference, exploring the emerging futures of markets and societies. 🌍✨

Our Founder & Managing Partner, Teddy Pahagbia, shared our vision of #CognitiveCities and the formation of a #CognitiveSociety, where human ingenuity and machine intelligence create a better future together.

We proudly announced our partnership with ReTech Center - École des Ponts to lead a program on the #CognitiveTransformation of #Cities, #Enterprises, and #Governance.

Thank you, Dr. Saman Sarbazvatan, and the entire ReTech Center team for welcoming us! 🙏

A heartfelt thanks to all partners, speakers, colleagues, and attendees for making this conference a success. Your passion for #Innovation and #Transformation was truly inspiring.

“Brainwave Sculpture : Prototype No. 11 : Tomorrow”
By @lansking

Brainwave-generated sculpture [AR version] created via brain computer interface device.

The exhibition opened at @mud.foundation WISPer Edition lab during Art Basel Miami in December and closes on 30 June 2024.

This virtual sculpture was generated using a brain-computer interface device that captures brain activity data. The data is fed into a generative algorithm and parametric software; each channel is mapped to a specific parameter. The algorithm transforms an initial geometry (such as a sphere) into a variety of new forms that are unique and rare.

Via this process, thoughts become forms. This form was generated as the artist thought about the word “tomorrow.” A thought about the future becomes the sculpture itself.

This is a prototype for a performance/generative artwork called The Cyborg Manifesto. Later this year, Lans will tour this series of performances during which he will generate virtual sculptures in real time whilst wearing a brain-computer interface device. For this performance, he will spend 24 hours in a glass pod, connected to a computer running a generative algorithm. These works may be collected as NFTs that will permit the holders to acquire physical versions of the sculptures.

The RCS book is live today! Chuffed to see my essay, “Curating in Postreality,” presented here with such care. Under the editorial guidance of @alexestorick, @right_clicksave has done incredible work to document, analyze, and critique the new media art ecosystem of the 2020s, as well as make space for visions of possible futures. I’m proud to see my words alongside those of so many respected friends and colleagues. Highly encourage you to snag a copy!
