Thank you to Her Excellency Susan le Jeune d’Allegeershecque, British High Commissioner to Canada, for the wonderful reception last week, to celebrate the newly installed artworks selected from the Government Art Collection, London.
Special shout for the guest list, which was perfectly curated with the assistance of Amy Thompson; a perfect mix of old friends & art patrons.

“We all have our ghosts to deal with. Some more painful than others. This ghost I loved very much.
He was my sister Ginette’s best friend and the first gay man I’d ever met.
.
Pierre Lamothe was born and died, and I don’t know those dates. I'm not sure why, but I was ashamed of that. Now it doesn't matter. I simply want to hear him laugh again; this laugh that at times made us pee ourselves.
.
It took me months to find the only photo I have of him, in a Toronto hospital, with my sister. Laughing, probably peeing.
.
The other belonging is a postcard he sent me
in 1983 (see front and back). The image is by photographer Bernard Faucon.
.
I knew finding this photo would be painful,
but it needed to be shared. Pierre would dig that Merci.” — by Guy Berube @lapetitemortgallery
