Guys I've finished my book! ✍️

My first ever book written in full!✍️

I'm so pleased that I have actually managed it. To complete a whole manuscript. 🙌

This book has been in my head since 2019... the reason I started this story means a lot to me.. the book has changed along the way ... and it will change again during editing am sure. But I'm so chuffed to have finished it..

And it's short and messy and it's a first draft but I've just this evening written those words - 'The End' !

✍️

Now what??

Well it's getting put aside this weekend as its birthday weekend .. I'll raise a glass to completing my first draft and to turning 40 something..

Ps any tips on what to do next are more than welcome! ..draft 2 you're up..

📚 New books by Indie Authors at my library! 📚

Happy Friday!

Welcome to the NT public library @larameredith_writes!

Welcome once again to @author.darlingducky22!

I had requested my library bring in Reclaiming Arabella recently so once Revealing Felix released I had to request they bring it in as well.

I also thought Thunder Bridge would make a great addition to the library. I wonder how many books I can request they bring in? I have read so many great books by indie authors this year. I want to request them all! 😂

QOTD: What's the last library book you checked out?

💐 Thunder Bridge will keep you on your toes!! This was an excellent book that I read back in June and still can't get it out of my head. I really enjoyed the women's stories and how well written the entire book was. The last 20% of the book had my heart racing!!

Thunder Bridge can now be found in some Canadian libraries too!! 🥳

✨️ Thunder Bridge - @larameredith_writes ✨️

As someone who has been through DV, I appreciated this book massively. It's a story of survival & women's strength. Trigger warnings are available. However, I personally found this to be a story of women taking back their power, their life & fighting back. I can understand how this story may be distressing to some, but please don't let this put you off, I felt empowered after reading this.

Tropes;

🌉 Found family
🌉 Mystery

Book Review✨️Thunder Bridge by Lara Meredith @larameredith_writes

✨️Fast-paced and intense page-turner with deeply moving emotional connection

“Just when you think you’re safe …

✨️An isolated women’s shelter set in the foot of Thunder Bridge in Ontario, named Willow's House, is run by Wren. She inherited it from her mother and grandmother and tried her best to help women who survived domestic, emotional, and physical abuse. Wren is gifted by her grandmother in sensing upcoming death and danger.
Though the shelter is struggling financially, Wren is determined to provide a safe space to everyone in need.
Being a survivor of domestic violence, she understood these women on a much deeper level.
Constantly dealing with angry husbands, boyfriends, and stalkers she always puts the women in the shelter her first priority.
But, now, someone with a twisted mentality is targeting her mercilessly. A resident is missing, and another is mysteriously linked, which resulted in danger to Wren’s life and her shelter.

✨️I loved Wren from the start. Her compassion, strength, and willpower to get justice for these women is commendable. The cruelty, manipulation, and life-threatening violence by people these women trusted are heartbreaking to read, and the author depicts it truthfully.

The writing is gripping from the first page, and it continues in chilling sensation in the isolated setting alongside some very emotional heart touching moments.

The tension and suspense buildup is palpable with shocking twists and revelations. What I loved most was that the emotional connection with the characters didn't break up despite the spine chilling turn of the events.

I felt compassion, anger, confusion, and foreboding sense of something dreadful happening myself. Terrific climax and the book ends in new opportunities and hopefully a new relationship in Wren’s life.

Loved it, highly recommended.

? What's your recent read that you highly recommend ? Or what are you currently reading ?

✨️ Have a great day, take care ☺️
