Some artists create because they have something to prove. Larkie creates because there are things inside her that deserve somewhere to live.

From recording vocals in her car to transforming grief, anxiety, love and self-doubt into music, Larkie’s story is ultimately about choosing creativity before fear gets the final say.

We spoke about the lifelong nature of grief, the heartbeat hidden inside “Grief Comes in Waves,” learning to become a better support system for yourself through “Enemy,” and why the ordinary moments of love inspired “Roommates.”

And through all of it, one piece of advice kept coming back:

“Just do it.”

Because sometimes you never become completely fearless. You simply decide that what you want to create matters more than the fear of being seen.

We did it! We packed out the POEMS Album Release Show and I couldn’t have done without you all. Thanks for lifting me up and sharing this beautiful moment 🫶

Huge thank you to @persephonedarke, @jusjadamusic, and @damonomusic for rocking the stage with sets of their own. You all crushed it.

Love to @solzilla for hosting and @sethfromabove aka @heavywaitchamp for being my production manager for the night + all your support leading up to the show.

Gratitude to @rellbefree, @theworkersam, @alexchadseymusic, @hkcharmainec, @larkielullabies, @persephonedarke, and Billie Bloom for gracing the stage with their voices and instruments.

Shout out to @joe_el_abbasi for making this video, @4ktaypics for taking photos and @sol.moravia for some choice photography as well. We made memories at @thesunsettavern for real!

@elanwright I’m so proud of this project we made together!

The album is out and my heart is full. Let me know which track is your favorite.
