Last week, @art.sergioarcos transformed The Shop Glebe Gallery ( @sesquitria ) into a space for experimentation and reflection through Perspective of Time. Colombian 🇨🇴 artist Sergio Ascos presents Perspective of Time in Sydney. His practice explores mixed media works that combine canvas, oil painting, and electronic components, creating intersections between material, technology, and perception. Ascos’ work is informed by theoretical physics and psychology, examining time, consciousness, and internal states through layered visual systems. His practice has been exhibited across Europe, including presentations in Paris, where his work has been shown alongside pieces by Salvador Dalí at the Louvre. 📍 Glebe Shop Gallery, Sydney 🗓️ Perspective of Time 📸 by @otherlatinart / @andrear_ar_ #OtherLatinArt #LatinArtInAustralia #ColombianArtist

Last October, we celebrated our roots in a big way, with art, culture, music, and connection!  We organized MUY together with an amazing team, people who love art and bring their genuine energy to exclusively giving voice to Latino American souls, from those born here to those who migrated to those are connected with our roots. This vibrant pop-up exhibitions was one of the largest celebrating Latinx & Hispanic creativity: from paintings and sculptures to music, food, and conversation, MUY was a space to connect cultures, and bring our community together. We started with 15 artists, then 28, and by the time we rolled press and marketing, 46 artists from across Australia (Canberra, Byron Bay, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney) were part of MUY! MUY by Other Latin Art (O.L.A.) — What an unforgettable day! MUY was nothing short of spectacular, the first large-scale pop-up exhibition celebrating Latin and Hispanic creators in Australia, and what a celebration it was! 💙 Held at the iconic Marrickville Town Hall @innerwestcouncil , we transformed the space into a living canvas filled with colour, rhythm, and emotion. With 38 visual artists, 6 DJs, and 2 live musicians, MUY became a vibrant meeting ground for art, sound, and comunidad, a place where stories of identity, memory, and belonging came alive. From paintings and sculptures to music and movement, every moment of MUY reflected the strength and diversity of Latin and Hispanic creativity in Australia. To all the artists, organisers, sponsors, and partners who made this dream a reality, thank you. @andrear_ar_ @andrea.88.88 @angidlapiu @brendafunezg @vimaxoomano @lexilex_guglielmi @the7dose @carlosagamez_art @carolinaduranart @chela_cain_art @consuelostt @daniellopezlomeli @jorgelomeliangel @doramorenozu @danielardila.33 @atriptofania @fabio.borgs @housecatstudio_fabian @herspinonthings @_foxy_fuzz @djlufaria @libaxx @red_head_that_loves_records @gia_roman @giodiaz.co @goyatorres @guipasart @arnuba_ph @pinegiraldo @karinmelzerad @lauralsur @srta.dynamita @keende_grazing @leostockinger @manu.serje @martatheenigmamachine @mariadcarmenart @mariapena_art @natalieestayvalenzuela @palomiart @pancho_press @palahoyos @rafaela.mori_ @moyarodneyaraujo @jrpz.art @laescondidarte @bett.sua @tolaolave @yeye.art_ 📸 @momentsbygab Special thanks to @heapsnormal for powering this experience, and to our incredible supporters: Altrimenti, Lathing, Macondo Studio, and Off the Wall of the Frame, for believing in this vision. Looking Back in our previous event ‘Hispana Expo’ ✨ La Galería was a space dedicated to showcasing the talent of Latin and Hispanic artists. This initiative came to life with ‘Hispana Expo’, a eight-month curated exhibition series designed to spotlight emerging and established artists. In collaboration with @macchiatosydney, @andrear_ar_ contribute with the curation, create the branding, marketing and event coordination, transforming the café into a warm, welcoming hub where art met community. Right now, we are challenging to bring @otherlatinart ‘OLA’ to a pop-up exhibition for Latin and Hispanic artists, supported by Inner west.
