We’re constantly told about affordability pressure, uncertainty and an economy in a bad way. Meanwhile billions of dollars are still moving through property every month.

The investors who do well aren’t sitting around waiting for the headlines to tell them it’s safe. They’re buying the right asset, in the right market, at the right price.

We had the opportunity to attend La Trobe Financial's Excellence Forum last night, hearing from an incredible line-up of Australian sporting and business leaders - Andrew Johns, Glenn McGrath, Ash Barty, Chris Andrews and Cory Bannister.

What stood out wasn't just their success, but the stories behind it. Each speaker shared the highs, the setbacks and the challenges they faced along the way, offering a genuine perspective on what it takes to keep moving forward.

A great reminder that success rarely follows a straight path. The lessons often come from the moments that test us the most.

We left feeling motivated, challenged and reminded of the importance of resilience, perspective and continuing to strive for excellence.

Tonight the Shorebreak Finance team was at the @latrobefinancial Excellence Forum, hearing from some of Australia’s greatest ever athletes - @glennmcgrath11, @ajohns74 and @ashbarty - on what it really takes to perform at the top.

The theme that came through again and again: it’s not just talent, it’s the daily habits, the relentless focus on purpose, and how you respond when you fail.

Lessons that apply just as much in business as they do on the field 🙌
