🍂 happy #HeartstopperForever day!

guys,,,, what an absolutely crazy time i have had. my sister @laurasbookmark managed to win tickets to the heartstopper premiere in london this week, and anyone who follows either of us will know how much this story and @aliceoseman’s work in general means to us. bc we quite literally never shut up about it.

as someone who remembers the kickstarter to get Heartstopper published, getting to watch the final movie all these years later whilst surrounded by fellow fans and everyone who made the show possible was SUCH a special moment that i will never forget. i cried every little bit of my makeup off in that cinema. and it was amazing.

we were only supposed to have tickets for the screening, but a staff member kindly gave us last minute wristbands to join the red carpet. when i tell you we almost died on the spot. we also got the chance to meet @yazdemand and she was SO lovely.

i don’t really have words to talk about how important this universe is right now because i’m still reeling from everything, but congratulations to everyone involved in the show for closing this chapter so perfectly 💕🍂

🦊 today marks ten years since i picked up a book that would change my life

i don’t think i really have words to describe the impact that aftg has had on me. 2016 was a really difficult year. my mental health was at rock bottom, i had absolutely no path in life, and i felt exceptionally alone. so like always, i sought comfort in books. i went searching for new stories to fall in love with, and The Foxhole Court landed in my lap. Neil and Andrew appeared when i needed them most.

over the past ten years these books have not only provided my favourite story to get lost in, it’s also sparked my creativity. i’ve made playlists, i’ve created art, i’ve cosplayed characters. this series has given me a community i can feel at home in. so to the random tumblr mutual who told me to take a chance on Neil Josten: you have no idea how grateful i am to you. a whole decade later and i’m still here 🧡

📚 a little bookish wander around london

i visited london last weekend for a concert that has been on my bucket list for about a decade, so it was an absolute dream come true for me! whilst i was there, i of course wanted to do a bit of book shopping, but the day i could wander around was a Sunday so a lot of the places i wanted to visit were closed 😮‍💨 i did manage to go to London Review and get a book from my tbr though!

This is the fourth book in the All for the Game series/book one in The Sunshine Court series (a spin off to the former focusing on two other characters/a different team). It takes place towards the end of The King’s Men when Kevin asks Jeremy to allow Jean to transfer to his team after Jean’s mistreatment at the hands of The Edgar Allen Ravens team and captain Riko.

I honestly loved every minute of this book and learning more about Jean, he was such a complex and mysterious character and has been a favourite since the second book—The Raven King. His (trauma/brotherly bond) with Neil & Kevin was lovely to read and it made me laugh at how similar Jean and Neil are.

I also loved Coach Rhemann (he was amazing and so like Wymack) and Jeremy’s best friends/Jean’s roomates (Cat & Laila).

I can’t wait to read the next book in this series and I would 100% recommend this book/series but to avoid spoilers it’s best to read the first three books which is told from Neil’s perspective.

Hello my loves, hope you’re all having a fabulous weekend. How are we already in March!!😅.

This week has been a combination of good and bad, the bad would be my OCD being an absolute nightmare, but the good is that I’m now three weeks into my video call OCD therapy (I have virtual appointments every Tuesday but this week I have a break) but I really like my therapist.

Another good thing is I had a telephone appointment with my GP on Friday as I was asking about the possibility of me being prescribed two different types of medication one of which to lessen my anxiety/panic attacks and I honestly expected them to refuse since I already take multiple pain medication for my disability and I already take a beta blocker for my heart but he prescribed me something since my anxiety unfortunately will be a long term problem since it’s related to my health and as I get older the anxiety will increase since my anxiety about my health will worsen. He is going to check in with me in 4 weeks to see if both medications are agreeing with me or not. He is also trying to see if I can also get therapy for my anxiety alongside my OCD therapy.

Overall I’m really pleased with the outcome of the appointment and I am doing well in the OCD therapy but it is pretty draining emotionally.

QOTD; Tell me something unexpected that happened to you this month, good or bad ?

⚠️TW/ talk of hospitalisation, feeling like I would d!e due to being unable to breathe, talk of possible severe panic attack but it was respiratory issues caused by fluid buildup turned infection. ⚠️

Hello my loves, so for this post I just couldn’t resist using these quote prints for #allforthegame which if you know me well will be well aware how much I fixate or love the series but I couldn’t not use this new song by @gracieabrams as it is so #neiljosten or #foxes coded🤭.

My unexpected thing to happen would be being admitted to the critical care unit again in hospital for something similar to what happened in January. I had an infection this time too but it was treated fairly quickly and this time the the risk was mostly fluid buildup (this is something I have been suffering with for over two years but back in January it landed me in hospital from the 3rd—25th).

This time the duration pre-hospital lasted longer as I woke at 3.30am thinking I was having a PA so I attempted to calm myself down for two hours after telling my dad and he said to let mum know if it doesn’t stop, using breathing techniques, ASMR, music etc…my PA can last hours so I thought this was that like back in January as we assumed that was a PA too. But by 5am it was worse so I got mum and she sat with me for a while redoing the exercises etc and getting me to monitor my SATs and then she got my sister up who then spent the whole afternoon with me coaching me to breathe until eventually I said “I need an ambulance, I feel like I’m going to 💀”.

When they arrived my oxygen had dropped to 45%. And I was rushed in to A&E and kept there overnight before being took to the CCU ward and was on there until Sunday night. While I was there I had to have certain vaccines to prevent further infection or disease, blood work to keep track of infection markers, weight check & antibiotics, catheter to check fluid output and help with lack of movement and cannula.

I was moved to a different ward for one night and was discharged on Monday. I’m not 100% but I’m trying to be more active 🩷
