Gosh I love @stephanieweinert and man, I used to have so much fun with the weekly #sevenquicktakes and #fridayintroductions. Thanks for tagging me! Everyone, join in!!

1. I’m co-coaching three baseball teams (poor kids!) and we’re finishing up pee-wee basketball, and I never thought I would have so much fun!

2. Huge shout out to @wordonfire_catholicministries and @fabiolagarzacreates for this incredible book! Everyone needs one!

3. I have such a tendency to fall straight into health trends and then become so discombobulated with what is true and what isn’t. I may or may not have bought some red blue-light blocking glasses. You’ve been warned.

4. I do the same thing with parenting books as of late 🤦🏻‍♀️ the latest one I’m listening to - Bad Therapy.

5. I am ready for watermelon season.

6. I should start a re-sale shop of kids shoes that have been worn maybe 5 times before a new size is needed 🤪

7. I currently love Hu chocolate, audiobooks, looking through photo albums, planning for summer and agua fresh kombucha with salt and ice while I could forever leave behind chalk, slime, whining, bad attitudes and sweet foods that should only ever be savory (ham) 😉.

The Trifecta that shaped my homeschool vision and philosophy....

.

And then a few years later I read “Real Learning” by @elizabethfoss and I had a clear roadmap sketched by women who had gone before me on this crazy homeschool journey.

.

For me the vision is the linchpin of homeschool success. The details and curriculum choices and lessons plans and daily rhythms fall into place naturally with a clear vision. Nobody has perfect lesson plans or a perfect homeschool. Not even these amazing authors and educators. But with a clear vision and roadmap for why you’re doing it, the less than perfect plans or books or rhythms don’t derail us as much. We know the imperfect offering of ourselves is serving a greater purpose and it holds us steady on the days we feel overwhelmed or unqualified or ready to quit. :)

.

If you are homeschooling or thinking about it, what’s the book or “trifecta” that has shaped you? Please share below - it will be such a beautiful resource for other women forming their own thoughts and vision! 💕

Since we are on a roll with the recipes, here is another breakfast favorite...Jerry’s Overnight Oats. .
.
Jerry @grouchy_historian LOVES these, especially with blueberries. They are healthy and quite tasty. .
.
JERRY’S OVERNIGHT OATS
.
1/2 cup old fashioned oats
1/2 cup almond milk or coconut milk or combination of both
2 tablespoons plain Greek yogurt
Dash of vanilla extract
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon ( I sometimes add in a 1/4 teaspoon of grounds cloves as well.)
1/2 teaspoon honey
1/2 an apple, chopped
or berries of any kind
.
You can add in 2 tbsp walnuts or chopped pecans if desired. .
Directions:
Put all ingredients (minus apples and walnuts) in mason jar or container and mix well, making sure all oats are soaking in the milk. Then, top with apples and nuts but don’t stir them in. Put lid on and place in fridge. Oats will be ready in the morning to eat. Can be kept in fridge for 4-5 days. .
**This recipe makes ONE serving. I make four or five and eat them the entire week. **These can be eaten straight from the fridge or can be warmed in the microwave, if desired.
