LA DOGS NEED HELP! Sharing at-risk shelter dogs.

Oso is two days past his euthanasia deadline and he truly needs a miracle at this point to live.

He is a good dog who had a family before but he has struggled in playgroup with male dogs. There are so many reasons as to why that could be the case but the shelter is not the place to decide that. That shouldn’t be a reason for him to lose his life. Please go to the shelter as soon as possible if you’re thinking about helping him.

‼️Beautiful boy Mojave is looking for his hero before his time is up - URGENT NEEDS (precursor to euthanasia)‼️

Stunning, soft eyed senior Mojave will be given a euthanasia date soon and he needs your help. He arrived at North Central in early September as an owner surrender. Sadly his owners didn't leave any notes about him or a reason for giving him up💔

He came in underweight and quickly developed discharge from his eyes (since cleared). He allowed medical staff to handle him and evaluate him right when he arrived 🩷

Mojave was scared in his kennel at first, retreating to his cubby and hesitant to come out. He was timid with volunteers but would approach for treats and we quickly learned how much this skinny boy loves his goodies. He'll make nice eye contact and give you his paw when you ask for it ⭐Sometimes even sneaking a little bit of the best stuff when you're not lookin ha!

When out in the yard with dogs he is gentle & dainty, tolerant, seeks comfort from handlers in the yard. He can be a little pushy but doesn't seem to recognize that he is.

Mojave has shown to be anxious inside the small glass meet rooms so his person will give him space to become comfortable in new environments 🫶

Unfortunately due to kennel presence his time is almost up. Which means he will be given a deadline very soon.

You can help him by Sharing, offering to Foster or Adopting❣️

Visit North Central to see if Mojave is the BFF you've been waiting for, before it's too late.

 🚨 TWINKIE · URGENT · DEADLINE TODAY (MON 10/19) 🚨
Twinkie was picked for euthanasia at LA’s North Central Shelter. He got one extension, and it runs out at the end of today. He needs a foster or adopter NOW.
He’s a 4-year-old sweetheart who came in as a stray on September 4th in rough shape. He had a microchip, a collar, and a tag, but his owner never came for him. 💔
Volunteers say he’s affectionate, smart, and eager to please. He already knows some basic commands and is ready to bond with his person.
He arrived with wounds on his body and face. Nobody knows how he got them, so he wears a muzzle in playgroups just to be safe. He’s friendly but can be a little stiff and awkward with some dogs, so he’d probably do best as the only dog in the home.
Kennel stress is why he ended up on the list, and he’s almost out of time. Let’s make sure his next chapter is a fresh start, not a goodbye.

🚨EUTHANASIA DEADLINE EXTENDED 10/19 MONDAY EOD FOR TWINKIE 🆘️

Twinkie arrived at the shelter just over a month ago (September 4th). He was found roaming as a stray but microchipped. The owner was contacted by phone and mail. Both attempts went unanswered.

• In one-on-one interactions with volunteers, Twinkie is affectionate, connected, listens to cues such as sit, down, paw, and stay! He makes great eye contact with his handler and he loves to work for treats!

When Twinkie arrived at the shelter after being found on the streets, he had wounds on his body that needed treatment. There's no information about what happened to him, but it's possible he was attacked by another dog or involved in a dog fight. With no confirmed history, he has been muzzled during playgroups out of caution.
In playgroups, he's been described as gentle/dainty, selective with dogs, playful, acts like a hall monitor*, stiff greetings, would benefit from continued socialization.

• Twinkie is a strong boy and he's still learning about the world. An experienced handler is important to help him thrive. Someone who can confidently show him that Twinkie is safe. He may be best as the only dog in the home.

🆘️‼️ Due to kennel stress, Twinkie has been scheduled for euthanasia 💔 If he isn’t adopted or rescued today (10/18), tomorrow the shelter will be closed to the public, leaving a rescue as his only chance to be saved.

This boy has great potential, is VERY sweet and deserves a chance at life. Please share this reel so the right person can SEE Twinkie.

MEDICAL ALERT 🔔 Athena needs rescue commitment BY WEDNESDAY 10/21 at 4pm

Athena is a sweet, affectionate 5-year-old girl at East Valley who urgently needs medical care 💔

She has a 4.5 cm mass on her left thigh, with cytology concerning for a malignant mast cell tumor. She needs staging to check for cancer spread, followed by surgical removal and biopsy. Her prognosis remains uncertain.

Despite her medical concerns, Athena doesn’t let that stop her from experiencing the basic joys of being a happy loving dog. She adores belly rubs, is easy to handle, and has been nonreactive to other dogs 🥺.

🆘 Athena needs a rescue to pull her by 10/21 at 4 PM and arrange the diagnostics and surgery that the shelter cannot provide. Please help us find her a responsible rescue who can give this girl a fighting chance!

AFTER ALMOST A YEAR AND A HALF… LUNA IS ADOPTED!!! 🥹❤️

Our beautiful & goofy girl is heading to Connecticut, where an amazing woman with a special love for big, blockheaded, goofy girls just like Luna is waiting to welcome her home! 🏡❤️

We rescued Luna in July 2025, and what a journey it has been.

Throughout her time with Good Tails Rescue, several wonderful fosters (you know who you are!😍) stepped in to care for her. There were challenges, transitions, training, and plenty of moments that tested us, but one thing never changed. Our commitment to Luna.

We continued to show up for her, invest in her training, provide the support she needed, and work through every obstacle because we believed in her.

Rescue isn’t always about saving a dog and finding them a home a few weeks later. Sometimes it takes months, even years, of patience, consistency, financial commitment, and people who refuse to give up.

And Luna was worth every bit of it. ❤️

To every foster who opened their home and heart to Luna, THANK YOU. You were such an important part of getting her to this moment.

As we prepare for Luna’s journey to Connecticut, we’re still hoping to raise funds for her transportation. Unfortunately, her previous fundraiser fell short, and I’ve been covering the remaining expenses personally. If anyone would like to help us get Luna home, even a small contribution would mean so much.
