👧🏻I know, I know…no one likes to read long poetic stories or prose anymore. But this is kind of comical to me now.
♏️For October’s Rising, this story grew legs, as I broke free from a prison i served time in. Where the key was tossed and I was held captive - because I sought out what I was taught. I don’t k ow if this was your conditioning, a mantra in your own upbringing - but I was told to think singularly - for someone else, not me. Don’t go to college, stay home and be good. Do everything you should. And that, right there, almost got me killed! So with a freedom now that the curse has been completely lifted and his ghost floats…I am free to love, I’ve been rebirthed and able to find love and happiness I should have always experienced.

Day 26 The Wild Return

"write about finding your way back to something you thought you had lost forever"

Over the last few years, I've gotten to know the woman buried underneath survival. By unbecoming, I'm becoming who I was always meant to be ✨️

I've lost
so many parts of me,
that I'd mistaken
me for me

I have lost my voice
My lips were sealed,
my mouth sewn shut
Nothing good came in,
and all the bad had no escape

While collecting
haunted dreams,
I lost countless nights of
peaceful sleep

I lost my smile,
my innocence,
I even lost my peace

A childhood lost,
no happy home
A dad that said goodbye
I've traded so much happiness,
for things
nobody sane would want

I've lost a brother,
father,
best friend
I've been standing crying at two graves
Although the one I would not miss,
is still here on this earth
I know that is not kind of me
but I've also lost love,
for the one I once called
brother

I've lost connections in my brain,
the ability to walk
I had to lose the fictive baby,
I hoped my womb
would make a home
But that womb was also lost,
because

in sick things nothing grows

You see so many things
I've lost,
I'd mistaken me for me

But somehow I've been standing
in the wreckage of my life
And realized I gained so
much more,
than I had ever lost

For everything I lost,
it brought me closer to myself
And every time this life
has made me cry out on my knees,
I always got back up again
and wiped my bloodied tears

I ripped the stitches from my lips,
so I could find the voice
that still was buried deep inside
Safe within my heart
I found the little girl
that had to overcome so many things
And I even found new ways,
to love all my once broken parts

So many things I thought
I'd lost for good,
found their way back
home to me

But the one thing I have lost for good,

Is mistaking me for me

Morning sweet poetry lovers! 🥰

This was written for the great prompt line ‘the light and dark shared my bones’ thank you @verseofthedrum @wolvesandwildflowerspoetry @lavendermorbs 👍❤️🥰

October has so far been a really mixed bag of a month -one of two halves experiencing both the light and darker side of life which face it we all have to go through at some point! (Probably appropriate for the Halloween season!) It has given me opportunity to get in touch with my darker side so the week ahead may be interesting and I will be posting a mixture of spooky and eerie Halloween themed pieces to whet your appetites and get you thinking and feeling! A week of change is ahead for me and instead of running away from it I will embrace it head on! 👍🖤🎃🥰 xoxo

🖤 Week IV: Beautifully Unbecoming 🕯️

Days 22–28 · Desire, defiance, identity, and rebirth.

What happens when we stop trying to be who we were told to become?

This week, we explore the parts of ourselves we were taught to hide, the desires we were told to silence, and the identities that no longer fit the skin we’re living in.

We write about the beauty of breaking away, the freedom of choosing ourselves, and the strange, sacred process of becoming someone we no longer need permission to be.

Let yourself unravel.
Let yourself want.
Let yourself take up space in a world that keeps asking you to be smaller.

You do not owe the world a version of yourself that makes it comfortable.

Sometimes becoming means unbecoming everything you were never meant to be.

I can taste it on your lips
Bittersweet truths,
you taste like honey
mixed with sorrow
There's a fire burning in your eyes,
you set fire to evil
while you warm my heart

out of hell again
I can feel it when your bloodied hands
make me beg for more
Your tender heart beats soft
for love
but bleeds black for those who
wronged you
I need you just the way you are

the acorn & the axe ↷

with the falling of the last leaves
i opened slowly with winter still inside me
the decay beneath in shades of crimson fading into bronze and brown
the cold light sears my naked skin
forlorn
standing stoic against the tempting winds
what i wanted trembled beneath my tongue
splinters become pages becoming stories
devotion blooms in the silver light reflecting the cold full moon
the blade is a monster but the handle was once an acorn kneeling beside me
and the ground upon which fallen leaves sleep

Again amongst all
of this heather now.

Can you not see
the night just began?

Our hearts beating to
nature's notes,
The chase, the race
picking up the pace and
its rhythm.

Velvet streams
rush, rush—
moving, sliding,
Gliding steps as we
hush, hush—
each other.

How can you lay beside me
Hiding who you still are?
The night's cover never
ends in the haunt.
Haven't you met me in
my dreams there?

How can time become
so untethered
Every time we meet?
My mind seems take
the same seat waiting
on you to see the real me.

How can you seem so sweet?
As your gaze swiftly swings into
Something different—
changing into shapes of obsession,
Pressing in the thick of the haunt?
Heavy is your breath as your voice
softens to a whisper.

I muster the strength—
The strength of understanding
You're not ready for a love
Of my kind of obsession.

In my haunt,
there is a wanting to know
Just truly, for once,
What love feels like free
Inside the haunt—
Wildly loving so freely.

A strength to survive the
Night's cruel jokes,
Watching you dripping
Your lies.
Razors slip past the edges
