¡Feliz Día de la Independencia de México! Recordando nuestros guerreros que lucharon por la independencia de nuestro país. También recordamos a nuestros defensores de la tierra.

It’s a privilege to dance at the Mexican Independence Day parade in Little Village! Grateful for La Villita, for our greater Chicago community, for our dancers, and for the joy we feel at this festival year after year. 🇲🇽🤍

Joining the @littlevillagechamber team a little under two months ago meant immediately jumping into one of the community’s most iconic traditions: The 26th Street Independence Day Parade.

A parade that has been around for 55 years one I’ve attended proudly as a Mexicano suddenly became something I had the honor of helping lead and bring to life this year.

And I’m truly proud to say that working on the parade was just as beautiful as watching it come together.

Thank you to the amazing village of friends who stepped in to help and support us on this special day. Eternally grateful for each and every one of you. ❤️

¡Viva Mexico! 🇲🇽

Sunday, November 2nd
We gathered in front of the Little Village Arch to share an important update on our GoFundMe campaign, and we also had the opportunity to distribute our first relief checks to 3 hardworking street vendors affected under this administration. 🤍

Thanks to our community’s love and support, we will soon be able to reach our goal and provide over 600 street vendors with $500 in relief funds.

Our small but mighty team has been working tirelessly, seven days a week, to keep this process moving. Please continue to have patience with us as we keep showing up for our vendors. 🙏🏽

We are so deeply grateful to everyone who’s stood by us, donated, volunteered, and has refused to give up. You are the reason this is possible.

Thank you @lavidarox @cadinhobakery, @sigchofor25 (25th Ward), @alderpersonrodriguez (22nd Ward), and Deputy Mayor for Immigrant, Migrant, and Refugee Rights @beatrizpdl for coming out and being present with us on this day.
