Do you really need a real estate agent when you’re buying a home?

Technically, there are parts of the home search you can handle on your own.

But after helping buyers navigate the Charleston market, I truly believe having the right agent by your side can make a huge difference.

And honestly? I love being a buyer’s agent. I love helping clients figure out what they actually want, discovering neighborhoods they may not have considered, touring homes, spotting the things that deserve a closer look, and helping them make a confident decision when it’s time to write an offer.

Because buying a home isn’t just about finding a house you like.

It’s knowing how that home compares to the market.
It’s understanding the neighborhood and what’s happening around it.
It’s knowing what questions to ask.
It’s recognizing potential red flags.
It’s negotiating when you find the one.
And it’s having someone in your corner when the process inevitably throws you a curveball.

You can absolutely search for homes on your own.

But you don’t have to become a real estate expert while making one of the biggest purchases of your life.

Having an agent to guide and assist your search isn’t just convenient — it can be incredibly valuable.

If you’re thinking about buying in Charleston and want to know what working with a buyer’s agent actually looks like, send me a message. I’d love to help you navigate it.

I’m Layne Kipp, an Isle of Palms local and Dunes Properties real estate agent — and I’d love to be your person in the process.

This home for sale in Mount Pleasant might actually make you rethink that whole “maybe one day we’ll move” debate...

Because once you start picturing mornings here enjoying the sauna, friends coming over for dinner, weekends spent kayaking, and having your favorite Charleston spots right nearby, “maybe one day” starts feeling a lot more like “should we go see it?”

Here’s what you’re working with:
🛏️ 5 bedrooms
🛁 4 bathrooms
📐 3700 sq. ft.
✨ On a tidal creek
📍 Wakendaw Lakes neighborhood

If a move has been sitting in the back of your mind lately, this one deserves a closer look.

Comment “1291” and I’ll send you the listing info.

You found the kind of Mount Pleasant home that makes you want to slow down and stay awhile. 🌿🌊

Welcome to this beautifully appointed 5-bedroom, 4-bath home tucked away in Wakendaw Lakes, where privacy, thoughtful design and Lowcountry living come together.

5 things I love about this home:

1️⃣ On a tidal creek with views from the primary suite and private upstairs deck.

2️⃣ The outdoor living made for Lowcountry entertaining

3️⃣ The kitchen — a true standout with Calacatta Gold Silestone countertops, a gourmet layout and butler’s pantry with plenty of storage.

4️⃣ The private retreat of a primary suite

5️⃣ The extras you don’t always see — impact-resistant windows, a whole-house Generac generator, tankless gas water heater, and three-zone HVAC.

And then there’s Wakendaw Lakes — quiet, tucked away and surrounded by lakes and creeks, while still being conveniently close to shopping, dining, downtown Charleston and the beach.

Want to see it for yourself? Send me a message to schedule a private tour.
