#SpillTheTea tag!!

I love me a tag, they’re so much fun 🤩
here’s how it goes:

T - a book that Taught you something
E - a book that you didn’t want to End
A - an Author you can’t get enough of

Here’s mine…

🫖T - a book that TAUGHT me something:
Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer
I knew when I picked this book up that I’d learn something but man, I didn’t expect to learn about myself. This book taught me so many things about nature and how plants can be used in a variety of ways. It also taught me how to respect nature and showed me spiritual connection i’ve always had with the wilderness that I never truly reflected on! A great and whimsical read :)

🍵E - a book I didn’t want to END:
Bloodmarked by Tracy Deonn
Everything Tracy Deonn writes is elite and i want to live in her world forever. Her characters are so real and I love every second I get to spend with them that I dread the ending of the story and when I’ll have to move on :(

☕️A - an AUTHOR I can’t get enough of:
Michael Ondaatje. I’ve been slowly but surely making my way through his works and every one is so complex and creative, so real and raw. They honestly take my breath away!

I’ve tagged a few of my favs, but if you see this; join the fun!!

💐 mid-year freakout tag 💐

(cover image is from pexels)

hello lovelies!!! i’d seen the amazing @emmie.reads do this tag on her youtube channel and then @pagesofepeolatry tagged me so of course i had to do it too!!!

— new favourites (new for me).
kari by amruta patil, to be devoured by sara tantlinger, i’m thinking of ending things by iain reid, the seas by samantha hunt

— favourite sequels.
the only sequel i read this year was heartstopper vol 2 by alice oseman and i adored it ✨

— new read you haven’t gotten to yet.
notes on an execution by danya kukafka

— anticipated new release.
sirens and muses by antonia angress (@ifwewereabookstagram has got me sooo hyped up for it) and we spread by iain reid! after reading i’m thinking of ending things, i’m super excited to reid (lol get it?) his new works.

— biggest disappointment.
the witch doesn’t burn in this one by amanda lovelace (hadn’t read any of lovelace’s work before this and definitely won’t be reading them after this </3)

— biggest surprise.
to be devoured by sara tantlinger (i wasn’t expecting it to make my skin crawl the way it did. it was so good!!!)

— favourite new author (new for me).
iain reid

— newest fictional crush.
jude duarte of course 🥰. i would say cardan greenbriar too but i’ve only read book 1 so far and he’s a prick in this (a beautiful one but a prick nonetheless)

— newest favourite character.
nick nelson!!! best boy!!! i adore him!!!

— book that made you happy
💖 heartstopper 💖 to be fair though, it was the only “happy” book that i read, everything else belonged to the horror or thriller genre so 🕺🏽

— most beautiful cover you’ve bought this year.
dowry of blood by s.t. gibson!!! i’m OBSESSED with the cover it’s absolutely stunning.

— books you want to read by the end of this year.
well, all the books that i bought this year but also especially i wanna finish tfota by holly black and jasmine throne by tasha suri ✨

if y’all see any typos here, pretend you do not :)

Post 1 of my attempt to keep it more ~casual~ with my account (or is it because I’m currently at school and needed a picture so I took this in my car on my lunch break?). Either way, @emilyjoybooks tagged me to do the Last, Current, Next challenge!
☾
Last: Watch Over Me by Nina LaCour
I posted the review for this a few days ago, so if you missed it, go check it out! Basically I loved it and I definitely recommend picking it up and it was such a lovely book to read to get out of my slump.
☾
Current: Gallant by VE Schwab and Crying in H Mart by Michelle Zauner
I started CIHM a few days ago but I couldn’t wait any longer to start Gallant so I began reading it this morning! I’m loving both so far.
☾
Next: ??? Probably Loveless by Alice Oseman
I’m a mood reader so planning TBRs is the WORSTTT but I’m hoping to start Loveless sometime next week once my finals are over!
☾
I tagged some people to join in but there’s no pressure to do it! And even if I didn’t tag you, feel free to do this and tag me so I can see!! Have a great rest of your week and I love you all 💜
