My mom was right… home is found in people

This photo popped up in my memories this morning. And this scripture was in my quiet time reading this morning. “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10 This verse was a staple of our home when the children were little. @kathryncarri and I spoke it over them, we prayed it over them, we claimed it over them. What a glorious retro combination of an image and a verse. Parents, what verse(s) are you claiming over your home today…

The more that I look, the more I realize I am living in God’s coloring book.

Drove Layton to Birmingham for year 3 at Highlands College. With a big family, extended individual moments are hard fought for and precious. So 36 hours just the two of us was light and life. Unfiltered conversations about hopes and fears and dreams and calling…and the new Spider-man movie of course. Layton is as resolved as she is lovely, which is quite the large amount of both. Miss her already, but so excited for her continued growth and development. Also, that Pappadeaux lunch tradition hits every time. Go be great Ladybug!

There was a time when it seemed like every stranger that passed me and my ducks in a row at the grocery store couldn’t think of anything more than to say “Your hands sure are full!” I always responded with, “Yes, hands full of blessings!” But I sure I didn’t know then how full my heart would get as they grew and I didn’t understand that there would always be room for more and more love!! The journey of motherhood is ever changing. Some mothers lament the changes and are saddened that their “babies” grow up but I am truly thrilled to be on this journey with John and all of our young adults and look forward to how that original crew of #The7Evans continues to grow and multiply.

My brother @gary112262 came down from South Carolina to spend a few days with me. My kids LOVE Uncle Gary. There is no denying the genetic connection! haha. He is the WAY cooler version of me that’s for sure. Breakfast this morning, then church, then lunch. Closed the day out with some Twistee Treat. Talk about a good day! 🙌🏼

My sophomore year of @highlandscollege will always have a special place in my heart.
From adulting, broken fingers, expedition, BIG life changes, new friends, amazing opportunities, and so much more… one thing remained the same. JESUS!

The main thing that I will take from this very formative year of my life is that, through it all, God is the one steady foundation that you need in life.

When your whole world changes, HE will always stay the same. Place your trust in Him. Keep moving. And remember, don’t look back! 😉🫶

Shine bright my friend, the world is watching ✨
