OUR FIFTH AND FINAL TRANSCENDENCE VOL 4 ARTIST SPOTLIGHT IS: Villainous Tempo - an open format Drummer/DJ duo from Pittsburgh, PA with National accolades 🥇 “Villainous Tempo is a misfit music duo forged in Pittsburgh, PA consisting of disc jockey Jake Barney (aka Senseishun) and drummer Jordan Bosland. Both artists have over two decades of experience creating music and have performed at some of the city’s most renowned venues, including Spirit, Cobra, Mr. Smalls, and Brillobox. Formed in 2023, they have taken the local music scene by storm and were recently crowned the 2025 Champions of the “Crash the Decks” National Drummer/DJ Tournament, effectively being the first team to ever earn the revered National Belts in the nine year history of the competition. Their open format sets hit harder than a freight train and feature sounds that span across the entire spectrum of musical genres. While they mainly focus on electronic styles like UKG and Drum & Bass, they pride themselves on being able to blend an incredibly wide range of songs into one seamless mix, often throwing in essences of Hip-Hop, Rap, R&B, Rock, Metal, Jazz, Funk, Soul, and even a few of your favorite Emo and Pop-Punk ballads from time to time. OUR FOURTH TRANSCENDENCE VOL 4 ARTIST SPOTLIGHT IS: Pink Camo - a Producer/DJ duo based in both New York City and Pittsburgh who have established residencies and played sets at some of the most notable festivals & venues across the East Coast! “Pink Camo is an enigmatic electronic music duo comprised of Tony Resch (aka Royal Haunts) @royal_haunts and Joshua Orange @joshuaorange Formed in 2019, they have held residencies at popular Pittsburgh venues, including their “Everything The Light Touches” series at Cobra, and have performed at iconic venues such as Elsewhere (Hall) in NYC and at renowned festivals such as Honcho Campout and Elements. Their sets bring rhythms from Detroit House and Techno to Jersey Club and UK Garage, often blurring the line between live performance and DJing. Their selections are so heavily woven together across four decks that the experience blends live sampling, psychedelic improvisation, and traditional DJing into one seamless torrent of sound that shakes audiences on both spiritual and physical levels.” We have been trying to bring Pink Camo onto the Transcendence lineup since Volume 1, and we are incredibly proud to say that it is FINALLY happening! 🙌We have been blessed to have Royal Haunts play every single iteration of Transcendence thus far, and we are absolutely thrilled that Josh is coming to town to spice things up even more. OUR THIRD TRANSCENDENCE VOL 4 ARTIST SPOTLIGHT IS: Tommy 2600 - DJ, Producer, Organizer, and Radio Host of “Club Unity” from Richmond, VA! “Tommy 2600 (they/them) is a DJ/producer, organizer, and radio host based in Richmond, Virginia. A dedicated student of dance music history, Tommy guides listeners fluidly through sets of Club Music, Footwork, Jungle, Techno, House, Garage, Disco and more. Their mixes keep dancers on their toes, akin to having one foot in the club and the other in the rave. Tommy is the founder and host of the bi-weekly radio and online show “Club Unity” which airs on WRIR-LP 97.3FM and has been running since 2022. There, they host guest mixes from community members and traveling DJs, and the show doubles as a monthly residency at the legendary local watering hole Helen’s in Richmond.” We cannot begin to tell you how hyped we are that Tommy is traveling in from RVA to bless us with their presence and to lay down what will undoubtedly be an unforgettable set which will blast us into the rest of the evening and onto the Ethereal Plane. OUR SECOND TRANSCENDENCE VOL 4 ARTIST SPOTLIGHT IS: Rave Mustaine - Resident DJ and organizer of Deep AF, The Pizza Party, and Panda Claws! “Chris is a DJ with two decades of experience behind some form of decks, generally mixing House, Garage, Breaks, and DnB. He appears collaboratively as one half of the PGH Audio/Visual duo, The Eye & Ear Institute ( @the_eye_and_ear_institute ) and is the producer of “Panda Claws” at @brilloboxpgh (since 2009) “The Pizza Party” at Fineview Park (since 2022) and “Deep AF” at @thegovernmentcenter on the first Wednesday of the month (since 2023)” We are absolutely gassed to feature this legend and veteran DJ on our lineup this Saturday. Expect to hear a wide range of high energy bangers and groovers coming out of the @clubcafelive sound system from him that evening, guaranteed to get your butts shaking and hype for the rest of the artists who follow. heat signal’s artist spotlight is @aznsenseishun! we caught up with them @delaniescoffee for some insight into their life as a pittsburgh dj… Jake Barney (They/Them), known by their stage name – Senseishun, is a Queer, Non-Binary, Filipino artist, activist, and DJ hailing from Pittsburgh, PA. They have been spinning records for nearly 18 years, and have now played shows & organized many successful dance nights at prominent clubs and venues throughout Pittsburgh, including: Spirit Hall & Lodge, Brillobox, Cobra, Jackworth Ginger Beer, and even the Main Stage at Pittsburgh Pride Revolution Festival from 2022–2024. Most recently, Jake and their drummer Jordan Bosland (who go by Villainous Tempo when they play as a duo) were crowned National Champions of the Crash the Decks Drummer/DJ Tournament. They were the first team to ever earn this title in the nine year history of the competition. Senseishun is a self described open format DJ who often takes their listeners on an eclectic journey through multiple different genres. Their sounds range from House and Techno to UK Garage, Drum & Bass, Hip-Hop/Rap, R&B, Pop, Emo, and even some Dubstep. Her sets weave together House, Techno, Acid, and most recently UKG with a focus on sensuality and emotional pull. She is the co-founder of Pittsburgh’s newest House collective, Heat Signal, overseeing marketing, promo, and A&R by curating lineups and shaping the collective’s creative direction.” We are honored to have Darcie on board for this year’s iteration of Transcendence. These past couple of weeks have been EPIC!!! - I put up a new video on my youtube channel telling the amazing story of getting to help a friend write a love song (partially in Swedish) to surprise her now husband for the first dance at their wedding. - I participated in the "Steel City Super Jam" where 20 musicians were split into 4 random bands, having to write 2 original songs and learn 3 covers, to perform within 6 days together! - I helped with worship for a mens retreat at Jumonville Camp and had a super meaningful night that I'll never forget. 🤘🧀🦷🦷🤘 THIS IS CHEESE TEETH!!! My gosh I miss it already! Steel City Super Jam was crazy fun and also just crazy haha but every band more than pulled it off! Thanks to @itsbrandonlehman and @golittlegiant for putting it together and inviting me to be a part, and to @913wyep and @bottlerocketpgh ~ But biggest thanks to my cheezy new music friends, Randall, Nolan, Vanessa, and Jordan! We wrote some really special songs together and I hope to have recordings to share with everyone someday! Steel City Super Jam 2026 is officially in the books. The final performance last night truly felt like witnessing Pittsburgh music history in real time. Four bands that didn’t exist six days ago… Playing songs that didn’t exist SIX days ago… I can’t thank WYEP, Bottlerocket, and most importantly, the musicians enough for believing in the process and being brave enough to create music this way. And for everyone who showed up to support the final event last night, thank you, thank you. The Super Jam may be a new concept, but it confirms what we already know: Pittsburgh music has depth. It has numbers. It has wildly diverse, ridiculously talented artists who are NOT messing around. Next year, 20 new musicians will get this same opportunity and I’ll repeat this until we run out. With your support, we can keep doing these for a long time. I’m proud of this community and that we’re constantly building. And I’m proud of you 🫶 📷 @eddiep_photos
