Beautiful 10 days in Fiskars this summer alongside @jacobus_conductor @kentaromachida.conductor @haug_nina_conductor @korbinian_krol @404xiao_

It was a huge privilege to perform with the absolute legend @mezzocargill and brilliant @otto_antikainen

Thanks so much to @jpsaraste @vasily__petrenko @dima_slobodeniouk @silvergoatee54 @sarah_osa1 for their mentorship and guidance throughout the course, and the whole team at LEAD. Sunnuntai oli tulkintojen juhlaa Konserttitalolla ⚡️

Turun konserttitalon otti haltuun Fiskars Festival Orchestra, johtajinaan Jukka-Pekka Saraste ja LEAD! Foundation Finland -mestarikurssin nuori kapellimestari 2026, Nina Haug. Solistina kuultiin häikäisevä Karen Cargill ✨

Konsertti oli vauhdikas matka neljän säveltäjän maailmaan klassikoista nykyhetkeen, jossa Beethovenin dramaattisesta jännitteestä edettiin Wagnerin herkkyyteen ja sisäiseen kaipuuseen. Tarkiaisen energinen teos ravisteli, ja Dvořákin sinfonia nosti yleisön kohti valoa ja vapauttavaa huipennusta 🌅

Kiitos Jukka-Pekka, Karen, Nina, Fiskars Festival Orchestra ja LEAD! 🩷

It seems that my musical heart is in Finland; in fact, it’s always been there but it’s just taken a while to discover it. For the past 2 years, I’ve been traveling there to work with my mentor Maestro Jukka-Pekka Saraste, and this week I returned again. Working with the Maestro has been an absolute delight and I’m happy for our amazing chemistry as teacher and student.

Also, there’s something about the natural open landscapes, the fresh air, the vast vegetation and the clean tap water of Finland that just brings out the best music in me. The violin concerto has been coming along well - do not be surprised if you hear Finland in it.

I wish to thank the @leadfoundationfinland Jukka-Pekka Saraste and Sarah Osa for a beautiful experience at this year’s Fiskars Music Festival.
