Hi, I’m Dr. J, a leadership & business strategist, founder of @leadwithbalance, travel advisor behind @jartravelofficial , and the person who helped bring together the HTX League of Empowered Women.

This community was created because I kept seeing women small business owners building in isolation, paying to access support, or struggling to find spaces that felt genuine and pressure-free. Houston has an incredible pool of talented women entrepreneurs and there needed to be a free, accessible space to share resources, learn from one another, and create real connections.

The HTX League exists to:
✨ Foster authentic relationships & collaborations
✨ Encourage collaboration over competition
✨ Increase visibility so people can hire women-owned businesses
✨ Build community through connection and consistency

I don’t see myself as the center of this group, just someone who opened the space and keeps it moving. The strength of this community comes from the women who show up, share openly, and support one another.

If you’re a Houston woman entrepreneur looking for community, collaboration, and support without the pressure, this space was created with you in mind. Comment “league” to join our IG group chat!
Welcome to the HTX League of Empowered Women 🤍

Finally, a recap of the ‘Her Comeback Workshop’.

Great job @leadwithbalance for creating such a transformative experience, and sending us into 2026 with a plan and some accountability.

Also, beautiful venue @ctcreativeartspace!

Her Comeback Year workshop was exactly what my soul needed.
I’m usually go-go-go, but pausing to reflect, recalibrate, and be held accountable by someone who truly knows how to guide women to their next level… wow.
And the best part? Connecting and networking with so many powerful women chasing their dreams.
Thank you, Dr. J 🥹 you poured into us. ✨🤍

Your genuine energy was felt !

Hi, Houston friends! I've put together a little Small Business Saturday guide for you. I tried to hit all of my favorite categories, from books to plants. I even have some for our online shoppers, so you can stay in your pj's. 🛍️😴

I’ll be at Brazos Bookstore from 10–3ish, so come say hi, shop around, and support the small businesses that make our city special.

Save this for your weekend plans and let me know if you visit any of these spots!

P.S. If you see typos, ignore them. I am literally just a girl (with a business, two toddlers, etc.)

Today’s Friendsgiving filled my heart in the best way. 🧡✨

I had an amazing time catching up, sharing what we’re grateful for, and our career goals for 2026. Sitting in a room full of strong, driven women entrepreneurs reminds me just how powerful community truly is.

A huge thank you to @leadwithbalance for bringing this incredible group together and for being such a thoughtful, inspiring leader. Your guidance and heart shine through every time we gather.

Grateful for these friendships, these conversations, and this growth. Cheers to finishing the year strong and walking into 2026 with intention and purpose. 🥂

Today’s coffee lovers edit was sponsored by @leadwithbalance, and made by @timhortonsus.

I got the Vanilla Oatmilk Latte, but they didn’t have Oatmilk. 🥴🥴🥴

Anyways, did you know she was hosting an in-person business workshop on December 6th, to help you get your business plans together for 2026?

Only 48hrs left to get your ticket with extra perks. After that, all you get is the workshop (which is still incredibly valuable).

Head over to her page to check it out!
