Thank you to @flyingeyebooks for believing in this outrageously long picture book.
I couldn't have done it without my art director and editor, the incredibly talented @lillygottwald and @harrietbirkinshaw

I was lucky enough to have a super talented illustrator friend of mine @leahbooteillustration create some beautiful joyful drawings of me reading The Last Stardog to a few classes for a world book day school visit.

And Thank you to my insanely talented friend @camillebroutinmehu for turning 4 illustrations from the picture book into the most stunning animations!

It was great fun to celebrate crows 🐦‍⬛ last night at the Fall with the Crows exhibition PV at @polyfalmouth curated by @thetrevaskis.

With 21 artists featured, this is a sizeable and beautiful celebration of the crow. As a nature and folklore lover I really enjoyed this exhibition and showcase of the cleverness, beauty and darkness of crows. It also further fuelled my desire to have a crow companion like Maleficent.

It’s well worth a visit so head down to Falmouth from today until 10th October to catch it 🐦‍⬛

Dear My Dog… Dear My Dear. . . • * • *✨💫⭐
.
My love for thee
Is far older than
The rings of Saturn
Or the Greek god pan
.
The years we count
Upon the earth
Don’t even come close
To this love’s birth
.
And always it will
Space time traverse,
Boundless as galaxy
Or infinite universe…

Dog Love

It’s been ten years. I still miss you.
Time heals—
does it?
I wonder when I’ll feel it.
I just want to hold you.
Hug you.
Run the soft tips of your ears over my lips and whisper secrets to you; stories that you will never tell.

I want to listen to you breathing as I lie in the dark beside you. So heavy and soft and all I ever needed.

I carried you in my arms the first day and the last. What is the past? Not you.

I carry you forward. Hold you in my arms. Present in all things, your presence, your love. Here you are. Dear dear Love.

Buttercups and peanut butter, head on the pillow. Pigeons, porridge, potatoes, sausages and sneezes. Bellyflops in the pool. Good tail wagging every which way, never in the way. Howling out the window— ears flapping in the wind.

The smell of grass and earth between your toes. Sea spray on your nose. Warm sun caught in your old gold coat…

I run and run and run with you… try to reach you… wild and soft as summer sand… One day I’ll hold you tight, in that other land…

The final group! Whoop! It’s been a joy to work on this Animal Friends Midsummer painting! In fact, it’s been such a joy, I’m happy to share I have already begun a new illustration filled with your delightful familiar friends! So if you don’t see your animal companion here, fear not, I will try my best to painting them all! Whahahahaha!
.
And to everyone who does see their fluffy, furry, feathered, majestic friend in the painting, I’d love it if you could please share a little bit about them for the rest of us to get to know them better.
.
Stardog makes little ‘ruff ruff’ ‘woof woof’ sounds in her sleep. And sometimes her toes twitch, and her eyebrows twitch, and her tail makes the softest, loveliest little wag that goes straight to the heart. They must be lovely dreams she slumbers in. Asleep amidst adventure.
.
⭐ART PRINTS are now available in my E.K.Mosley Etsy shop! Whoop! They are pano 33x88cm.
.
Thank you to everyone who requested them and thank you to everyone who has already ordered one, it truly means a lot!
.
Happy stargazing foolish dreamers!

Thank you so much to everyone who joined us for such a lovely afternoon of slowing down, looking closely and gathering inspiration from the surrounding landscape.

We spent time exploring colour, shape, texture and light, before settling into our sketchbooks with soft pastels, pencils and plenty of tea. There was no pressure to create anything perfect -just space to experiment, notice and enjoy being outdoors together.

A huge thank you to the wonderful @leahbooteillustration for joining me, sharing her beautiful sketchbooks and offering a glimpse into her outdoor drawing practice. Her work inspired so many lovely conversations and gave everyone permission to approach their pages in their own way.

Looking forward to the next one 🌾💚
