GOD IS STILL DOING MIRACLES!!!

About a month ago, my dad was taken in for a brain angiogram to recheck after his stroke from last year. After about two hours of waiting, the surgeon came back and took me and my mom into a separate room and told us that his AVM had returned and he would need to have his 2nd brain surgery in under 2 years. The likelihood of this recurring is so low that none of us expected those results. For the next month, our family was scared, disappointed and uncertain of what this next surgery would hold. We weren’t sure of the risks of him having to go through it all again, but we soaked up every minute of being together through it all. I had every doubt in my mind, and started to wonder if this was going to be the time that we didn’t see Him move in how we expected.

My dad was taken to the ER on Monday the 30th due to headaches and they did every test and scan imaginable and the AVM was still there, it hadn’t gotten bigger or burst, so he was sent home. On Thursday, July 3rd, he went in for his procedure to glue the AVM (this is about a 3 hour surgery), and about an hour in, we saw that he was “wrapping up the procedure”. At this point, my mom and I were thinking the absolute worst, because that was not enough time for them to fix it. When we saw the surgeon, for a moment I thought that this would be the moment that I had been worried about for weeks. BUT GOD!!

My dad’s surgeon told us that the AVM that was seen a month ago, and again on Monday had DISAPPEARED on Thursday!!!! @drricardohanel has been a surgeon for over 20+ years and this was only his second time seeing this occur. They checked 5 times to make sure, but it was very clear that God had miraculously taken the AVM away. Every doctor and nurse told us that we had witnessed a MIRACLE with my dad!

I was silly to think that God had performed “too many” miracles in my life. He reminded me that He is NEVER done working, and He is still and always will be answering prayers. I am so thankful for the amazing doctors that worked on my dad. I am in awe of the Lord.

God is not done performing miracles, and nothing is ever too medically advanced for Him to heal. TYJ!!!

God showed off ALL week at KidsKamp! 600 kids and 300+ volunteers!! I cannot believe that we get to see this in our lifetime. Watching children have real encounters with Jesus is so incredibly special, and such a privilege. Every single day this week felt like Christmas!!

@courtneyjamison @beachkidsjax @beachchurchjax @a_david_sanders thank you for creating the space for lives to be changed forever and believing in the next generation. Already counting down the days till next year🥳🥳

reflecting on the Lord’s faithfulness while being home…

since coming home from summer, I’ve felt this heaviness due to being disconnected from my friends and not being at church most days of the week- leading me to kind of wonder where God was in this time. but my mom made me clean out my closet today, and hidden away in a random box was a little can full of prayers I had in 2014. finding the prayer in the second picture gave me chills all over. at 12, me and my family were constantly on our hands and knees praying that we would be able to bring natasha to the states, at 19, I get to take her to youth group and hug her each night before bed. at 12, I yearned for my sister each night. at 19, she is constantly knocking at my door to tell me something new. at 12, my family never thought we would get through this. at 19, I can look back on this desperate prayer and know that He is a God of fulfillment. my sweet Tasha has been home for 7 years now and every second with her makes up for the 6 years we spent fighting for her to be with us. He has been here through it all.

all of this to say - if you’re feeling distant or disconnected, take a second to reflect back on the answered prayers. My God has been faithful to each generation in my family. My God has ears that listen and eyes that saw my prayer hidden in a box at 12 years old. My God is faithful to me and to my family - just as He is to you.

just feeling especially grateful today🤍

to the most beautiful momma:

the road ahead might look tough. Surgery tomorrow might look scary, but I have never met someone more equipped to handle the road ahead. You have been through the toughest battles, but not once have you given up; you continue to ask God what He is trying to teach you in each trial, and that is one of the many things I admire about you. You have held me up when I felt like I was drowning, and I can only hope I can be that for you. I love you momma, more than anything. You are a conqueror, a fighter, and someone to look up to. Now go kick cancer’s butt!💗
