wasútȟuŋ wí // the moon when things ripen

August has felt like ripening. Seeds planted months - or years - ago finally beginning to show themselves.

Some seasons are for planting.
Some seasons are for waiting.
And some seasons remind you to look around and recognize what has already grown.

August, you were full. 🤎🌱✨

Join us in celebrating Echoes in Mosaic. More than 35 Indigenous students from SFPS Native American Student Services learned from and created with Indigenous artists Bill Coriz and Ehren Kee Natay, educators, and community partners, including Kiksuyapi Collective, through Echoes in Mosaic, a collaborative public art project centered on Indigenous art and culture, youth voices, and community collaboration. Together, participants explored artistic expression and traditional jewelry-making techniques. Designed and composed by Natay, the finished mosaic brings together the creativity, perspectives, and contributions of everyone involved, reflecting the connections shared across generations.

We invite you to commemorate the completion of this project and honor the students, artists, educators, and partners who made it possible.

- Meet the artists and collaborators
- Experience an artist demonstration
- Participate in hands-on community art activities
- Enjoy frybread and refreshments
- Enter for a chance to win door prizes

📅 Wednesday, August 12
🕠 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM
📍 Santa Fe Community Gallery (201 W. Marcy St., Santa Fe, NM 87501)

Admission is free and open to all!

🅿️ Free parking is available in the Santa Fe Convention Center Garage (entrance on Federal St., across from the U.S. Post Office). Please bring your parking ticket to the Gallery for validation.

🎟️ Please RSVP by August 9 using the QR code or the link in our bio.

Echoes in Mosaic is a collaborative project with Kiksuyapi Collective, Bill Coriz, Ehren Kee Natay, and SFPS Native American Student Services.

This project was made possible through the City of Santa Fe Arts & Culture Department’s Art Is the Solution funding, an initiative of the Santa Fe Arts Commission supporting community-engaged arts and cultural projects.
