In Nigeria, more than 6 million children under five are acutely malnourished. We recently travelled to Maiduguri and Abuja to document the incredibly important work @rescueorg is doing to combat child malnutrition. They’re working with @claudeai to roll out a new system that lets them process data faster and, they hope, reach more at-risk children. This film tells that story. Maiduguri is the birthplace of Boko Haram and has been at the heart of a conflict that has displaced millions. Few film crews make it here. It was a huge challenge to put this production together and we’re grateful to everyone who made it possible. And to the brilliant @garorourke and @joeyknoxy for travelling out there with us, filming under very unusual and difficult circumstances. The American AI corporation launches an insightful and balanced documentary exploring how Icelandic people are approaching the arrival of artificial intelligence. Directed by Gar O’Rourke through Jaywalk, this honest and contemplative documentary from AI corporation Anthropic takes us to the heart of an Icelandic community, to discover how people are feeling about the use of AI in their everyday lives. Set amidst the country’s stunning scenery, the 8-minute film, titled ÞETTA REDDAST, moves through schools, workplaces and community spaces to capture a range of perspectives on the technology and what it might mean for the future. Beyond these organisations, O’Rourke takes us out into the community, gathering diverse perspectives from whale-watching captains to the local church and choir. Edited by Nico Frank & Kauai of post production studio Leap Year, the film weaves conversations that feel natural and candid, offering a neutral and balanced perspectives that makes space for scepticism, curiosity and humour. The film takes its title from the Icelandic phrase “Þetta Reddast,” translating loosely to “we’ll figure it out,” a sentiment that ultimately runs throughout the film.
