LECAVALIER SSFW27 — Publication by Mathieu Huppé

Conceived for the first Sozzani Awards in Milan, this publication was developed alongside the LECAVALIER SSFW27 collection as a way of documenting and extending the research behind the work.

Material experiments, leather trials, textures and techniques are brought together with fragments from personal and studio archives. Through Mathieu Huppé’s vision, these elements are observed, repeated and abstracted, creating a visual language around the processes and references that shaped the collection.

Material research has always been at the core of LECAVALIER. This publication offers a glimpse into that process: where experimentation, construction and memory become part of the work itself.

Fondazione Sozzani presents MARIE-ÈVE LECAVALIER @lecavalier.studio , one of the three finalists of the 2026 SOZZANI AWARD.

The first edition of the award is dedicated to women’s empowerment supporting a female creative or entrepreneur with the @veuveclicquot Veuve Clicquot Design & Craft Scholarship For Women.

MARIE-ÈVE LECAVALIER
Paris-based Canadian designer whose practice spans leather, textiles, and objects. Combining craftsmanship with material research and experimental construction, she creates sculptural works that challenge traditional notions of value, luxury, and art by reintroducing offcuts into new materials.

The winner will be announced on September 26, 2026, during Milan Fashion Week.

The Design & Craft category of the Sozzani Award is realized in collaboration with Veuve Clicquot, supporting contemporary female talent and creative entrepreneurship.
