By far my FAVORITE watch at the Atlanta Watch Salon Event was the Lederer InVerto! @lederertimepieces. Not only did I have an opportunity to see the watch in-person and try it on, but I also met the Watchmaker Bernhard @bernhardlederer and his lovely Wife and Managing Director Ewa @ewa_lederer! They were both so gratuitous and kind! I would love to have an InVerto in the collection some day! @atlwatchsalon

The @lederertimepieces Central Impulse Chronometer 39 mm in Racing Green pairs a vivid matte green dial with an exceptionally considered approach to chronometry. Beneath its restrained exterior lies a movement developed around one of traditional watchmaking’s most technically demanding escapements.

The detent escapement has long been recognised for its efficiency and precision, but its performance can become unstable at low amplitudes. Lederer addresses this challenge through an in-house movement built around twin barrels, two independent gear trains and dual constant-force remontoires. At its centre, a double-wheel escapement with central impulse is designed to maintain stability even at minimal amplitudes.

Meticulous hand-finishing completes the movement, reinforcing the technical sophistication of the construction. Limited to just 20 pieces, the timepiece reflects Lederer’s continued focus on advancing the principles of precision chronometry through contemporary mechanical solutions.

Demand for the @lederertimepieces CIC 39mm continues to accelerate, and securing a production slot is becoming increasingly challenging, as waiting times stretch ever longer.

Crafted in 18k pink gold and measuring a remarkably elegant 39mm, the CIC (Central Impulse Chronometer) represents one of the most important contemporary approaches to precision mechanical timekeeping, the fruit of 40 years of research by Bernhard Lederer.

Famously, the movement is built around a twin independent gear train architecture feeding a central impulse escapement, delivering constant and symmetrical energy transmission while minimising the disturbances typically associated with a traditional Swiss lever escapement.

The manually wound calibre is visually spectacular, featuring mirrored construction, twin remontoirs d’égalité and an exceptionally refined level of hand finishing throughout. Beyond its striking aesthetics lies a serious horological proposition: an innovative chronometric solution conceived by one of independent watchmaking’s most respected technical minds.

We are pleased to have one example available immediately through Pietro’s. For those who have been considering the CIC, this may be one of the few opportunities to bypass the increasingly lengthy wait and secure one of the most significant independent watches of our time.

The Lederer InVerto takes Bernhard Lederer’s Central Impulse Chronometer and literally changes the perspective.

Instead of hiding the movement behind the dial, the InVerto brings its mechanical architecture to the front. The two balance wheels, the twin escape wheels and the complex constant force system become the centre of the watch, transforming what is normally hidden into the main visual element.

A chronometer with nothing to hide.
