Our resident photographer, Lee Bertrand @leebone27 , captured these drone shots of an Ocean Sunfish (aka: Mola Mola) captured the other day. This particular sunfish is laying flat on its side to absorb the sun and regulate its body temperature.

1. When swimming upright it has a very similar appearance to the dorsal fin of a shark breaching the surface.

2. Mola Mola are completely harmless to humans.

3. The lifeguards are trained and contact the drone unit at the first sign of unusual sightings.

4 . Just because the drone is up it doesn’t necessarily mean there is dangerous marine life present.
