CommunityCave’s BONUS! 5th Thurs - BYOC Halloween Social

Date: 10/29/26 @ 6:30-9pm cst via z00m*

For our October BONUS! 5th Thursday meeting, which is open to all folks identifying as TQI (trans/queer/intersex) PLUS our guests of any gender (yes, even cis folks with your seal of approval), let’s get in the spooky spirit with a Bring Your Own Candy (BYOC) Halloween Social!

Meeting in z00ml@ndia may prevent us from sharing our candy, but we’ll make up for it by sharing scary stories, both our favorite freaky works of fiction and those eerie experiences of a more personal nature. Should we run out of those, we’ll either cruise the googles for fun short works by queer/trans authors, or settle into casual chatter, as dictated by predilections of those present.

Folks are encouraged to keep it creepy by attending in costume, hallowday garb, or fun pj’s! AND YOU KNOW WE’LL BE HAVIN’ A LIL COSTUME CONTEST CUTENESS!!! Those not competing shall serve as our jovial judges, so no need to dress up to participate. <3

For this month's open meeting, we will be opening the floor for general discussion.

We seek to discover points of connection and collaboration between our larger communities through the discussion of topics and issues from our multiple points of view. We also hope to learn from and heal one another through the celebration of our diversities.

What topics will you bring to the table?

CommunityCave's TQI Nights: Let’s Get Dreamy

Date: 10/15/26 @ 6:30-9pm cst via z00m*

Let's talk about all things dreams!

Do you dream regularly? What do you dream about, and how vividly? How connected do you feel to your dreams? Do you try to interpret them, or feel that they serve some purpose in guiding you or working through things? Do you have some dreams that you just can't escape, such as night terrors or stress dreams? Have you ever experienced lucid dreaming and/or have you ever tried to take an active role in your dreams?

These are just a few of my most obvious questions...what would YOU like to share with, or ask of, the group?

CommunityCave's FYF2ndThurs: Resistance Radio
Date: 10/8/26 @ 6:30-9pm cst via z00m*

For this month’s F#ck Your Feelings 2nd Thursdays: A Rotating Activity Jubilee! meeting, we will be sharing our favorite resistance music! I have an insta-folder with a ton of current tunes, which I’ve been populating for exactly this purpose, as well as many old faves that may be searched up on youtube or played from my personal archives.

Folks are encouraged to share their own sustaining music, in similar formats to the above, and also to perform their own songs or to strike up a singalong! I know I’ll be ready with my favorite protest piece, given half the chance. <3

CommunityCave Plus: Extracurriculars for Life

Date: 9/24/26 @ 6:30-9pm cst via z00m*

Extracurricular activities? They’re not just for school kids, ya know! Beyond our hobbies, crafts, and other solo/informal pastimes, there’s a wealth of organized activities to check out in the city (and online, if there’s scant offerings in your area or you simply prefer that platform).

For our members already engaged in extracurriculars, either ongoing (orchestra/musician groups) or occasional (short/specialized art classes): How did you find them? How do you budget time/money for them? How do they benefit your life?

For our members that are not: Are there things you’d like to do, but have barriers like time/money/geography that we might problem solve together? Are you interested, but have no idea what you might like to do, and up for some brainstorming? Or have you made an intentional decision to avoid joining organized adult activities, and why?

CommunityCave's TQI Nights: How EVERYONE Can Fight ICE

Date: 9/17/26 @ 6:30-9pm cst via z00m*

Folks in Focus - OPEN to ALL: trans | gender/queer | intersex COMMUNITY MEMBERS

For this month’s topic-driven TQI Night, let’s expand upon our previous discussion around Migra Watch, to discuss how EVERYONE might participate in the resistance & support efforts, around the ongoing state violence visited upon our communities by ICE/DHS/etc.

To help guide us, we will be viewing & discussing a slider I found & saved from Insta, posted by David Gate, for just this purpose. The information is of good quality, & presented in a brief manner: ideal for sparking much conversation & ideas.

CommunityCave Plus: Make Sh!t Yourself

Date: 8/27/26 @ 6:30-9pm cst via z00m

Folks in Focus: OPEN to ALL: trans | gender/queer | intersex COMMUNITY MEMBERS + our guests!!!

This topic could go a lot of ways, and our meandering shall be set by those in attendance. The queries we will open with are as follows: What do you make for yourself? For your community?

When my mind wanders on the topic, I think of the following things:

- Physical objects such as art, crafts, clothing, construction, etc. Do you do this in surplus of the other physical objects that you acquire, or in order to avoid purchasing New Things™?

- Food and consumables, from creative cupboard meals to made from scratch cooking and ingredients cultivation. Do you do this in an effort to survive through food insecurity? Or in an effort to follow a food plan that is restricted by medical, cultural, or personal reasons?

- Grooming products, remedies, tinctures, etc. Is this driven by economic reasons, aversion to the Medical Industrial Complex, cultural/spiritual reasons, or…???

- Community resources, services, systems, etc. Do you work within existing structures, and is this work towards harm reduction or reform? Are you working outside of the existing systems, and out of sheer necessity or in preparation for radical positive change? If you are working towards the mass abolition of the current violent and oppressive structures, which ones, and what ideas or hopes do you have for the building of equitable and just systems, which might replace them?

Where does your mind wander, and what of it do you make?

CommunityCave's TQI Nights: The Ocean Taught Me to Love My Queer Anger

Date: 8/20/26 @ 6:30-9pm cst via z00m*

Folks in Focus: OPEN to ALL: trans | gender/queer | intersex COMMUNITY MEMBERS

I’ve had this article saved as a potential topic for a few years now, and the widening scope of violent attacks by our administration have only added weight to their words. Instead of pulling a chunk as intro, I will instead include only their tagline here, which implores: “Why have I been so quick to dismiss what anger is asking me to see?” Please join us, as we together read their perspective, adding our own queries & answers along the way.

CommunityCave's F#ck Your Feelings 2nd Thursdays: Low Trigger (lowkey PG) Lounge

Date: 8/13/26
Time: 6:30-9pm cst

Folks in Focus: OPEN to ALL: trans | gender/queer | intersex COMMUNITY MEMBERS

For this month’s F#ck Your Feelings meeting, we will be engaging in casual, low trigger convo. Per usual, folks are encouraged to share about whatever they bring to the meeting for our highs/lows rounds, without any expectations to self-sensor.

Once the highs/lows portion of our meeting is done, starting at 7:30 pm, each of us will be sharing our lists of trigger topics for group avoidance. For the rest of the meeting, we will then be centering our discussion around lighter topics that are appropriate for all ages (no graphic chatter this evening, please <3).
