@leeubaseball competed today! As heavy as you can go on Squat to Box… but it had to be faster than .80m/s @vitruvefit

Multiple guys 350+, many over 300lb

Peak power numbers to the moon 📈

Partner Eccentric Chinups - Eccentrics strengthen you through a full range of motion, but you’re stronger eccentrically than concentrically so you need extra load. No belt? Just grab a buddy. Week One - 4 sets of :10 lowering

Our hand release pushups look great too. Our hand release pushups staying synchronized together? Well, it’s only Week One this block

A big shout out to @coachlindsayjones for passing her CSCCa SCCC Certification this week. She’s helped us put in the hours in the weight room and supporting us from the sideline when she can. Another top member of staff we are lucky to have here at Lee! 🔥 We’re already feeling the burn from those summer workouts you’ve given us.

Is this 1/4 squat from pins “sport specific” or is weight training always general compared to the demands of sport?

Ultimately the semantics don’t matter. 9 vertical PRs on a Matchday -1 lift last week, a RS lifetime PR’ing three sessions in a row… that matters. Make sure your training is relevant to the joint angles you’re demanding action from, at times throughout the year

(context… we’re running Omni Contraction all spring: one eccentric/full RoM day, an isometric day, and a concentric focused session)

UPSET IN CLEVELAND (TN)!

Lee defeats Mississippi College in an epic battle that came up to the very last singles match.

Sophomore Rytis Rasminas won the deciding match at line 6!

Lee will now travel to Jefferson City to face Carson-Newman on Tuesday.

A healthy shoulder needs a mobile scapula (shoulder blade)

Your scap should glide up, down, forward, back along your ribcage

Any vertical press, your scap should upwardly rotate, gliding up and out along your ribcage

Coaching cues/feel - cover your ear as your press; tuck your ribcage down and squeeze your glutes; lean into the bar (if using a landmine)

Yielding Isometrics dramatically increase time under tension (ignore the plate loading)

Benefits include joint-angle specific collagen synthesis and tendon stiffness (athletes NEED stiffness), hypertrophy due to the time under tension, positional (i.e. angle-specific) kinesthetic awareness and control

Difficult enough with any exercise. On a unilateral lift? Good luck

Omni Contraction - weekly layout with an isometric, concentric, and eccentric focused day. These muscle contractions make up every sport (and weight room) action

Team squat peak power up 16% (947 to 1138W) in two weeks, with mean concentric velocity only down .05m/s despite adding 37lb on average from Week 1 squats
