Too often, men are taught to stay strong, keep things to themselves, and push through whatever they’re feeling. But talking isn’t weakness — it’s strength.

This Men’s Mental Health Month, let’s make it easier to speak up, check in on the men in our lives, and remind each other that nobody has to face things alone.

June has been quite the month. Can’t believe we’re already in July. I feel lost in space and time but here’s a bit of a June reflection post. I hope it resonates with families in the same position as ours. The long road through the last term of school with a special needs child who is going through a lot, mentally and medically. Trying to keep him cool and regulated feels rolling a boulder up a mountain.
See below for some of the support aids we are using that have helped us:
• Mr. Pen dry wipe pouches (Amazon)

• Social stories—our SEN school assists me in creating these laminated A4 posters using @widgitsoftware
• Visuals all the time! Some home made, more indestructible ones from @create_visual_aids

My opinion on the “he said she said” episode! Taken me a few days! But I’m here for my fellow SEND families!
I also googled whether a teacher had to leave the classroom to change a nappy or assist a child in cleaning them selves!? And this is actually against safeguarding regulations in the uk. A qualified and trained assistant is the one who would intervene and take charge with a child that required this care and help. Not the classroom teacher! So that was another thing Louise Thompson said incorrectly! Ha!
Anyway I love you SEND mummies and daddies! We got each others backs and any other parent and child who just finds life a little harder than others!
We are not all the same and neither are our children so “hey society” stop trying to put us all in the same bubble! And people….famous or not….do your research please! Hello GOOGLE!!! Ffs!

As parents of neurodivergent kids- we get power from being honest. It’s time to tell the truth about what it’s like to raise a high needs child. And that truth is it’s EXHAUSTING! There’s no shame in admitting we’re tired. But it definitely helps to admit it. Why? So no tired parent out there thinks it’s just them. Bottom line, if you’re tired you’re doing a great job and I’m proud of you! Keep going folks!
