Last week, we celebrated some of our incredible local talent here in Ōtautahi at @nzfashionwk Spring fashion festival. • A highlight for us was seeing @awatea_____ using our plant-dyed silk on the runway at The New Guard - congrats to Rose on such a thoughtfully curated and inspirational inaugural showcase. • Friday saw the opening of @gritdept__ , a Ohinehou pop-up showcasing Aotearoa-based creatives across the arts spectrum. We included a plant-dyed cotton wall hanging for the space along with 2 habotai silk squares, sourced from the wāhine at @beautifulsilks. • We capped off the week with the @lelajacobs curated COLLAR exhibition at @artscentrechch, which was a stunning feast of thoughtful craftsmanship and personal creativity from each of the 60 makers. All round, it was an incredibly inspiring week that showcased that creativity, connection, and our values can be rooted in our textiles. @gritdept__ is in its final days - we highly recommend going to see and support if you can - 23 London St, Lyttelton.

AN ŌTAUTAHI FINALE.⁠ ⁠ The Spring Edit brought CSFF 2026 to a close with a final runway spanning the many moods of New Zealand fashion.⁠ ⁠ @caitlincrisp, @kwfootwear, @juliettehogan, @taylorboutique, @karenwalker, @nom_d, @companyofstrangers, @claudialiofficial, @lelajacobs, @tuesdaylabel, @kowtowclothing, @new_lands_studio, @knuefermann, @elleandrileycashmere, @zambesisince79, @twentysevennames and @untouchedworldnz took to the runway, bringing their own signatures to the mix.⁠ ⁠ @geneva_am joined the closing show with a live performance, adding another creative dimension to The Spring Edit. ⁠ Four days of fashion, countless perspectives and one final show to bring it all together. Sixty makers, one brief, and as many readings of what a collar could be. They hung at the height they’d be worn, turning on twine. @lelajacobs has been preoccupied with the collar in her own practice for years, and when she put the question out, the answers came back pinned, tucked, beaded, threaded, cut, embroidered, woven, and commerce nowhere in it. She curated the show with the collective at @thekeep__, and I left wanting to know more, so caught up with Lela for an interview in the new issue of @homestylemag. Collar comes to Ōtautahi this month as part of the @nzfashionwk Spring Fashion Festival. Can highly recommend nabbing a ticket… It’s even better in person.
