Unfortunately, I didn't meet everyone immediately, but as the years went by, I met a whole lot of amazing people. There is n such thing as too many flowers. Right...? ---‐------------------------------------------------------ My entry for @lemony_su's shipping contest! A little context for the picture: Daigo Rinako had came to the Land of Fire with a couple of cousins after leaving their home village in the high mountains, to complete the 5 year of traveling every freshly adult member of the Daigo clan goes through. The goal of the trip is to widen their horizons, help them gain a better understanding of the world they live in and it's people and have them bring back useful knowledge (and maybe people too) at the end. The most interesting to Rinako after coming down was when she learned that there were still a few Uchiha's remanining, given thar previous travellers talked about the destruction of the clan. So, since she wanted to know more about where her ancestors came from (the Daigo clan mixed with the Uchiha some 400 years ago) she decided to seek them out. That's how she met Suzu, who instantly captivated her with her confidence and bold personality. Although originaly Rinako simply wanted to be her friend, after some time spent together she started to feel something else blooming in her too. So one day she shot her shot. Rinako, having come from a remote village which is quite different from the rest of the world, often is a bit clumsy when it comes to social interactions and traditions. She originaly planned on catching a bird or mice for Suzu - as among the people of the Daigo clan those are quite common presents people show affection with -, but when she heard about flowers being an option too she decided to go with that instead. However she wasn't sure what would be the right amount, so she picked enough for a whole bouquet, just to be sure. ---‐------------------------------------------------------ (Rinako is 100% my art. Su had one arm folded under her chest, the other brushing lightly against his as she looked through the glass at the drifting sea life, her long blonde hair trailing down her back like a ribbon of gold under the dim glow. “Y’know, I came here once when I was a teenager.” Su glanced at him. “That so?” “Mhm, now I’m back here with my wife. WAY better company this time.” She gave him a sidelong look, already suspicious of where this was going. “You’re about to say something ridiculous, aren’t you?” He pointed at the seahorses with exaggerated seriousness. “Did you know some seahorses form actual pair bonds? They do little greeting dances, stay in sync, and the male carries the babies!” Su blinked. “So the husband gets pregnant?” “Exactly!” Satoru smiled like he’d been waiting his whole life for that reaction. “Which means seahorses understand marriage, responsibility, and teamwork better than half the population.” A short laugh escaped her before she shook her head. “You really brought me here just to compare us to fish?” “Not fish,” he corrected with mock offense. “Romantic icons.” She rolled her eyes, though the smile stayed on her lips. Satoru reached for her hand then, lacing their fingers together as he looked between her and the tank. “C’mon, Su. Matching routines, bonded pairs, carrying the next generation on their shoulders and/or in this case stomach? Sounds pretty familiar to me.” Her expression softened, warmth slipping through the teasing edge. “You’re insufferable.” “And yet,” he said, lifting her hand to kiss her knuckles, “you married me. 😘” Su huffed a quiet laugh and leaned into his side just a little. “Keep talking, Satoru. Purple flames licked the edges of the obsidian throne, rising and falling like a slow, patient breath. The light from the fractured prisms behind it scattered across the chamber, turning the air into shards of color that danced across pale skin and silver hair. Shirohebei sat as if the throne had grown from the earth for her alone, with one arm draped lazily over the side, violet fire curling around her fingers like obedient serpents. Her eyes glimmered through the glow, cold and knowing. Across the back of the throne lounged Su, the famed doctor whose reputation traveled through whispers and rumors alike. She looked perfectly at ease despite the inferno curling around them, one leg swinging idly as if she were seated in a quiet parlor rather than the den of a goddess. A faint, catlike smile tugged at her lips. “Your guests seem nervous,” Su murmured.
