Happy fall y’all 🍂

For me, this was the summer that never really was. Turns out when you have unexpected spine surgery your life gets turned upside down just a bit 🙃

Not only on a physical level, but on the work level. There aren’t that many photos in this little wrap-up post because I took medical leave away from work for the first time in my life this past August. It wasn’t what I wanted for this summer, of course. I had to cancel shoots I wasn’t physically able to do, turn potential clients away, and even cancel vacations. For a single, self-employed millennial whose work ethic was drilled into my DNA thanks to the 2008 recession, being unable to complete my duties as a business owner this year was really tough.

Thankfully, my recovery has gone well enough to the point where taking photos with a chunk of my spine missing is no longer scary. I’m a little slower on my feet than I’d like (still dealing with some lingering numbness/weakness in one of my feet), but for the most part, I’m able to grab the cameras and get out there.

So this is my little summer wrap-up post today! Just a handful of lovely clients who were so patient with me and with my delivery schedule that took longer than I would have liked. I have so much gratitude to my clients for being so understanding and compassionate during this little life upheaval 🖤

I hope you all enjoy the fall equinox today! Step on a crunchy leaf for me 🍁

Don’t they just make you want to pick up a pencil and play? You could even sketch out your own custom design for back to school!

One by one, she debunks his expectations, encourages him to be more active, and leads him on a series of unexpected, new adventures.

Kim Gravel, best-selling author, entrepreneur, and television personality, imagined a story that would become part of a family’s holiday traditions. A book to be shared, cherished, and read together each Christmas. That idea became Maribelle and the Manger, a beautifully illustrated children’s book filled with seasonal warmth and wonder.

To bring this vision to life, Kim partnered with illustrator Amanda Lenz and Jenkins Group for a full-service publishing journey. With their expertise, Kim’s story became a polished, professional book printed in 10,000 high-quality copies and designed to be enjoyed year after year.

Keep reading on our blog to discover how Kim and Jenkins Group brought this heartwarming holiday story to life.
