We closed up shop for the day to take our wonderful team out for a day at Charleston Farmhouse. We missed our dearest Bella who had mother duties that’s day sadly.
It’s a place that has served as a huge source of inspiration to us over the years. The colours, patina and imagery that covers every surface brings so much joy. It was a pleasure to spend that day at this beautiful place with the woman who make Closet & Botts possible. We are so grateful for each of them. @leonieshearing @heathy_mac @bellamurphy9729 @nesting_vintage_children @starring_jj @ellie.mae.designs @charlestontrust

💒 WONDERFUL WEDDING 💒
.
Four weeks ago I had the honour of being the chief bridesmaid at the wedding of Oriana - whose name means ‘golden light’ We’ve been friends since school for 43 years!!!
.
We met at Cardinal Newman school in Hove and connected immediately over our quirkiness, curiosity and ability to chat about everything and nothing for hours and she made me laugh a lot 😆
.
Oriana is a talented Jewellery Maker who upcycles old jewellery into modern pieces and uses sustainable sourcing and making methods in her jewellery 👌🏼
.
After A levels we both did an Art Foundation course together at Eastbourne. She went on to study Glass Making and I went on to do a degree in Shoe Design👠
.
As friendships can go, we’ve had times over the many years where we didn’t see each other and gaps of time with no contact. True friendships are the ones where you pick up after time apart just like it was yesterday. They feel familiar, comforting and like home. That’s how I feel when I’m around this beautiful human. 💗We discovered yesterday, our daughters who both have the same middle name - Rose - were born on the same day. (We also both named our boys Oliver)
.
So to Oriana’s wedding day. It was a mix of emotions - magical, moving, emotional and fun. I laughed and cried during the ceremony and danced and chatted all night. 🤣😢💃💬 I drank water, nosecco and tea and loved every minute of being so in the moment.
.
Oriana wore this stunning dress made from a vintage table cloth and her gold Esska sandals were a preloved find. ♻️ I wore The preloved yellow Vampire Wife’s Dress that I bought from Trinny at The King’s Trust event. My Esska velvet sandals were rented from By Rotation and the gold jacket is a vintage preloved piece I swapped at my swish event last year.
.
This was a wedding filled with creative input from talented friends - Darren an old school friend and talented florist created the stunning flowers, the lovely Lionie from art foundation days - a talented artist - did the calligraphy for the table plan. The incredible fashion designer / maker Jo Hedland made Oriana’s gorgeous upcycled dress. Oriana - of course - made her & Pete’s wedding 💒 rings 👌🏼💗

Joni turned 2 on Sunday and my lovely sister @leonieshearing , who some of you may know from the shop, made her this beautiful picture. We love it! As well as working in the shop she is a very talented illustrator and will be showing her work in the shop during Lewes @artwavefestival so you will be able to see her work in person. She makes these on commission as well as lots of other beautiful bespoke pieces.
Artwave is open from the 2nd-17th of September. Come and visit Lewes for the day as there will be plenty going on all around the town.

I work with creatives. I understand how you think, your distractions with social media when you want to just get on with doing the thing you love.
I see your vision of where you want to take your business and I will work collaboratively with you to make that dream a reality.

I have worked with artists, illustrators, designers, authors, festivals, literary salons and events.

The businesses I’ve really enjoyed working with are run by driven, creative people who have exciting dreams. I love the journey of bringing them into fruition and being your guide on that path.

This is just a small selection of some of the brilliant businesses I’ve had the pleasure of working with in one capacity or another.

If you’re ready to stop dreaming and build a plan of how to do it then I’m here for you.

DM me yes, let’s have a chat xx

Lovely words from the loveliest of clients @hellofitnesschristine ❤️
It’s not just about social media.
When I mentor you we work on your business as a whole.
Whatever you need.

I’ve been running my own businesses for 11 years so I have enough experience to pass on the lessons I have learnt.
We can work on things like:-
⚡️making a plan
⚡️how to make your business financially viable
⚡️how to grow an engaged social media audience
⚡️putting yourself out there
⚡️confidence coaching
⚡️training in all social media
⚡️how to grow your email list
⚡️how to know what’s working

I think if you asked my clients the most important thing I gave them, they’d say support. I will hold your hand and we can figure it out together. It can be lonely running a business on your own. Would you like me in your pocket for three months? Cheering you on. Someone to message when you’re having one of those days.
Head to the link in bio to see how we can work together.
Tagging in some past/present clients. You can see my Kind Words highlight for more reviews 🙌

I’m very excited to be doing a drawing challenge with the wonderful @stella.olive from next week! We’ll be taking turns in telling a story, one sentence at a time and illustrating it with lots of spring prompts! Who knows where it will end?! I’ve been so inspired by Stella’s daily posts on here. Recently both she and her husband have endured a really nasty bout of Covid 19 & she drew all the way through her recovery. We start on Monday 15th March. Pencils at the ready!!!✍🏻

Evening all, went to pick up a final present for Arf today. Cheese, crackers and a selection box are very much calling me. 🍷🧀
However I wanted to let you know that I am looking for two amazing women to join my 90 day mentoring programme. You need to be passionate, driven and eager to learn. In return I will offer you a mixture of bespoke training, coaching and support. You’ll get an hour with me every week and access via Voxer if you get stuck or need advice at other times.
You’ll finish the three months being able to market your business with confidence and ease. You don’t have to believe me. Check out the kind words in my highlights & I’m going to tag in some of my clients. Fingers crossed they don’t say I’m a complete twat. 🥳
