Early this summer, I had the opportunity to spend four weeks at @air_byrdcliffe as an artist in residence.

The cohort was an incredible group of talented creatives who shared work, creative practices, and deep conversations that propelled my work forward. I am incredibly grateful to each one of them for every moment.

In the first week, we presented to share a bit about how we’ve worked in the past and the goals we had for our residencies. The last week was full of studio visits and an open studios/ reading to the public.

I am so grateful to the Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild for this opportunity. And of course, the talented artists who helped make it all happen @eeeyoin and @art_by_brielle!

Membrane is open through September 6.

Membrane is a container of life and potential. It is a permeable zone of exchange where what is and what can be is most alive. This show brings together twelve artists whose work inhabits the charged space between states: between stillness and motion, object and subject, arrival and departure, image and matter, threat and beauty, presence and disappearance. They occupy the threshold itself - the held moment within transformation, where meaning is most unstable and most dense. They do not resolve. They contain. Membrane is staged in a fitting space that has always existed as a passage in-between.
